Spoke to a previous co worker yesterday and she is saying that Collingwood are in talks with Nathan Jones, they know they will not get a decent player in the Beams trade. Her uncle is a physio with the Pies.

Hmm, they may talk with him (his manager) but he will spurn all comers, as did his #2 predecessor and stay to become as loved a club champion as Robbie F was.

Well that's pretty much the end of the MFC if that happens. Not even exaggerating.

If our captain and 3 times B&F winner walks out to Collingwood, we may as well stop trying to keep our list together.

I hope Bulldogs trade for St Kilda's number 1 pick. That would leave us sitting pretty for Pretacca and Brayshaw with 2 & 3. Or we can shift pick 3 in a Tyson-esque deal. Then we can trade for another mature body with pick 22. Or if that doesn't work out, pick Nakia Cockatoo.

LOL do you know Jones personally? Unless he has come out and said that jones will come under extreme pressure from other teams.

You only have to look at his recent tweet straight after the Port and Hawks game that he is seriously desperate to play finals footy.

He is a free agent next year. Of course there will be top 4 clubs lining up for his service's.

Ha!!! What a joke! Bloke has already said he'll re-sign another extension that should see him a demon for life. A physio for collingwood said so hey? He learnt of this giving their footy operations manager a massage perhaps? Was this during the happy ending perhaps? Of course every physio at every club has the real inside info! Lol

Wasn't it collingwood fans who beat his old man up at the footy?

Jones is a RESTRICTED FA next year, we can match any offer & probably have more cap space than most anyone else. This is pure BS, but thnx heaps for sharing.........

Restricted free agent. We can match any offer.

A question - has any club "matched" a free agency offer ?

From my memory, once a player says he wants out whether restricted or not - they have gone.

We slammed the likes of Frawley for his commitment to the club - do you really want to keep a captain of your club that makes you bid under FA rules to keep him ?

edit - having said that - I think he will sign up again

We were probably saying the same thing about Frawley this time last year.

Then it turned out his contract was front loaded....

I understand the hysteria surrounding the potential of Jones leaving, but the club is bigger than any one individual. If Jones were to sign with Collingwood today, the MFC would still be here tomorrow. I will support blokes who want to play for our club, for my club. I couldn't give a toss about those who don't.

Hey, I'm not the first to look foolish on here, won't be the last. But this article seems to be a stronger indicator than 3rd party info from a physio!http://m.afl.com.au/news/2014-09-11/dees-keen-to-keep-jones

You mentioned Jones said that he will sign a extension soon. That article backs up my argument.

No where is it mention he will sign an extension. Just the fact that the club are set to put an offer forward.

If Roos thinks Jones will leave he will be traded

It also makes Trenners' commitment to us last contract more significant. He wasn't entering free agency, but he could easily have walked and instead he stayed with the club. That's why I continue to support him and hope he'll come good again.

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an

    ALAS SPRINGS by Whispering Jack

I got the word on Saturday from someone who knows someone inside the Fremantle camp that the Dockers were pumped and supremely confident about getting the W the next day against Melbourne at TIO Traeger Park in the red heart of the country. I was informed that the Dockers were extremely confident for a number of reasons. They had beaten the Demons on their home territory at the MCG at their last two meetings so they didn’t see beating them at Alice Springs as a problem. They belie

    TROUBLE by The Oracle

Situated roughly in Australia's geographic centre, Alice Springs has for many years been a troubled town suffering from intermittent crime waves, particularly among its younger residents. There was a time a little while ago when things were so bad that some even doubted the annual AFL game in the town would proceed.  Now, the hope is that this Sunday’s Melbourne vs Fremantle encounter will bring joy to the residents of the town and that through the sport and the example of the participants,
