Don't think we are going to get Danger, but if I was in charge I would go with something like this:

Pick 2 and 3 plus Toump for Danger, pick 10 and 3rd rounder

We could then trade pick 10 plus Watts to Sydney for Mitchell and their 1st or 2nd rounder.

Although I'd probably prefer Picks 2, 3 & Toumpas for Dangerfield, Lyons & Pick 10.

We can then use Pick 10 to draft a young mid, or look to trade it for someone like O'Rourke with Frost.

That is a good point, but we aren't sure if the Danger rumours are true, although they could be and if they are then you've got me beat on this one.

If Danger doesn't want to come back to Victoria there is no point discussing the trade as you would be paying overs for someone who doesn't want to be here anyway. The bargaining chip is that he wants to come home, this reduces the price you have to pay. If he doesn't there is no pressure for Adelaide to deal & the deal is off.

Just because he might not want to leave Adelaide doesn't mean he would want to stay if they accepted to trade him.

Imagine if your girlfriend told you she was dumping for you for another guy, your not going to stick around knowing that she wants to be with some other bloke.

and by the sounds of things our offer is huge, and it would be very unlikely any other side could match it or the trade assets we have to get the deal done, the MFC would now be banking on the crows starting to panic and wanting to take the best deal on the table

I'd rather use the picks for other options & cover more holes in the list than what you were proposing. I most likely wouldn't offer anything more than pick 3, a player & a pick not in the first round.

Danger would have a massive flow on effect to the rest of the team. Just imagine Viney and Salem learning from he and Jones on field, under Roos' tutelage. Exciting stuff!

Roos seemed to manage ok without getting a star like Dangerfield to Sydney, admittedly he had some pretty handy players like goodes already. No point selling the farm for one player that blows out your entire trade period. If Dangerfield is available for a decent price all well & good.

This is how I look at it:

- Toumpas' value as a 'pick 4 potential superstar' has depreciated to half.

- Pick 10 in 'potential superstar' currency is worth half of Pick 2

so it becomes 2 potential superstars for Dangerfield

a potential superstar with a top 3 pick is probably about a 50-50

so its one star for another which is about right

Toumpas is not a draft pick and nor is any other AFL listed player.

Just like every other player they need to be rated on there performances and what they look to be able to deliver. The fact that Toumpas was a high pick means nothing now and what he has shown on the field has been average at the very best. Injurys and playing in a crummy team and blah blah blah, he hasn't delivered in the AFL. And in my opinion he does not have the power or speed to be a high quality player in the future. Therefore I believe the trade I proposed is decent for both parties if Adelaide wanted to trade Danger.

Similar to Scully. No chance in hell he would go at 1 now
