GOODBYE MITCH CLARK

Ummm how about letting the supporters know what's going on.

That's what the club will do, an unsubstantiated rumour tells us nothing and just causes more angst.

too late nut, he's already been blamed for all things past, present and future

Perhaps we can blame Mitch Clark for Jack Watts? :)

Do you not think the club has the right to tell its own story, once everything has played out? Which it clearly hasn't by the way, given that the stories in the media are conflicting.

Anyway, glad GNF's post made you feel better :)

How many times over the years has the club treated it's supporters with contempt and not bothered enlightening us with any details or just giving us spin? I dont see any reason why someone shouldn't post info on here unless they are betraying personal confidences by doing so.

They can post all they like, that so many take it as the truth of the matter probably says more about group mentality than anything else.

Back to work for me, I'm sure there will be a few more pages to look at in another couple of hours.

If Clark says he'd love to stay at Melbourne but then doesn't, it means one of two things:

1. He's lying to the public to protect his reputation

2. Melbourne / Roos don't want him. Which begs the question why??

IF case 1 his reputation will be totally stuffed - he would be remembered as nothing more than a mercenary who totally screwed a struggling club that stood steadfastly by him in his darkest hours.

I think / hope he is bigger and better than that.

mentally soft, history of burning clubs, severe foot injury, has played 15 games in 3 years

How many reasons do you want

So you'd rather pick 18 from Hawthorn than risk getting back our best player?

Have you seen our goal kicking ability lately?

Unless Roos knows we can get something seriously great for him, or he has put a very high price on his head (in which case how can Hawthorn afford him?), it really makes no sense.

"Around 100%" is probably somewhere less than 100% - that is exactly my point. If it were me, I would not post something that was going to cause a riot among MFC fans unless I was willing to put my name and my sources name to it. Without that, I just don't see how you could treat it as anything less than another hypothetical.

I'm clearly on my own (or in a very small crowd), so I won't carry on about it any further.

Surely what he wrote wasnt much if a surprise anyway - can you put 2 & 2 together and figure out what's going on?

Gunston for Clark anyone?? Haha I jest to all those who might think im serious..

It sounds to me like mfc will get first crack at Mitch it he is 100% on coming back

I know for a fact, 100%, that the club have people that read this website. Information leaked by a viable source from inside the club and then being posted on this site may happen once, but there is very little chance that it would be allowed to happen again.

That is not such a bad deal IMO.

Gunston is a goer vs a bloke with a serious foot injury and serious mental problems that may not play again.

I would take it.

And why would Hawthorn?

That was Alex Sakadjian that Mitch was training with on the news. He is the MFC sport science coordinator. They have been working on a Misson program since Mitch was back in training.

unfortunately hawthorn would have to employ Neeld to do that trade..

Guess I must be the only one who is skeptical when someone says "I talked to my guy at the club and...." in an anonymous setting. I've only read it on Demonland a thousand times before. Maybe if I knew who his contacts were and, indeed, who he was.

I've no doubt GNF does know someone at the club (I don't think he's making it all up), but I simply cannot, ever, count on a poster I don't know as delivering 100% gospel. He deals in rumours, not facts, in my eyes. And I still question his motives.

Carry on.

Love your work Nasher, but running a football forum then asking why someone would post inside info on it is a bit confusing in itself. Why exactly are you running Demonland if not for people to discuss things like this, whether fact or fiction?

It's the reaction to posters treating the post as gospel, not the post.

2. Melbourne / Roos don't want him. Which begs the question why??

2. Simply because if Clark doesn't want to play for the MFC then why play him? If you really want to leave then its in the best interest of both club and player, especially if its an early contract release. That goes for any player. Whilst I will be criticized for this, I truly believe the MFC are better off without Mitch. Midfield is a more pressing for the club. Anyway just my opinion

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

MATCH SIM: Friday 7th February 2025

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator ventured down the freeway to bring you his observations from Friday morning's Match Simulation out at Casey Fields. Rehab: Jake Lever and Charlie Spargo running laps.  Lever was running short distances at a fast click as well as having kick to kick with a trainer. He seems unimpeded. Christian Petracca, Kade Chandler, Shane McAdam and Tom Fullarton doing non-contact kicking and handball drills on the adjacent oval.  All moving freely at pace.  I didn’
