Isn't it a tad weird that a grown man would have his name tattooed on himself!

Not when you're a self obsessed narcissist prepared to burn and betray people that go out of their way to look after you.

Oops... Lol... The statement is a prehensive strike, justifying the price they are paying... I could be wrong, but to me this looks like a calculated raid and I doubt they'd make blundered media statements... Unlike me..lol..

well in that case you should have said pre-emptive strike

prehensile is usually used in biology to describe limbs (arms, feet, tails or noses) capable of grasping or grabbing

Clark was not seeking a huge money offer from either Geelong or Collingwood, with the Cats likely to offer a two year contract, with incentives.

Geelong coach Chris Scott has a relationship with Clark based on their playing days at Brisbane and the Cats believe this was an important factor in persuading Clark to join them.

Clark's choice was unusual in that it health considerations - where he would be best suited, with Geelong arguing that its provincial surrounds and low key environment would fit him better than Collingwood.

The Cats have acknowledged the inherent risks in recruiting Clark, given his foot injury and depression that prompted his retirement. Clark played only 15 games in three seasons at Melbourne.

He said there was some risk surrounding the signing, due to Clark's history, but the Cats were "confident" they could mitigate it.

"He's had a crook foot and obviously he's had his other issues but we're relatively confident he'll be OK," he said.

"Obviously we've got to protect that a little bit but I think it will be a good deal for him as well."

What a JOKE !

"Oh well Peanuts to the ready" In fact we should all throw Peanuts at the first Melbourne / Geelong game in which he participates

It is a well known fact that if you want to make a Arboreal happy and less stressed, you can encourage this by feeding them

The only thing I cant decide on is what type of Arboreal makes a good analogy.

Chimp ? (No too much Intelligence) , A Gorilla ( mm sort of Built like one ), or maybe a Orangutan (nope feet wont hold up)

MMM can only think of one other Arboreal that would be apt, but that Ill leave to your Imagination

Dunn says he's a little disgruntled but overall it's good for Mitch.

Garland says Frawley going is what's best for him and he's a mate first and a team mate second.

2 of our senior players and better performers of the last 2 years simply don't care when 2 of our top half dozen players leave.

I yearn for the good old days of Beamer giving Brock a send off. No wonder we don't win. The jumper and the club mean nothing to these guys.

I know I'm about 10 pages behind, but I totally agree with this. The players are too close to each other and not close enough to true leadership and devotion to the club. At Hawthorn, if you're out, you're out... History. Irrelevant. Yes, there is a place for compassion, but it was only 2 weeks ago that Clark's only personal media statement is that he wanted to play for us.

I was speaking to another senior leader at our club who said exactly the same as Garland. That he understands and supports the decision. I was treated like a pariah when I suggested that from the outside it appeared a dog act.

I think we have a long long way to go.

Don't think Roos would endorse Dunn's comments given what he quite deliberately said at the B&F.

I rate Dunn. Always have. But I'm disappointed with some of the comments he has chosen to publicly make on this issue.

The only reason Dunn spoke out was cos his mum was too busy to make the call

Again, like with Frawley, it comes down to leadership. If Dunn had it, would we have kids as captain? No... They aren't leaders. As a result, they make poor calls and say stupid things. They also let us down time and again. Compare and contrast to the grand finalists. It is a legacy of a weak culture.

Dunn has led this year in the way he played. There were big raps on the two captains when they were appointed, both have done nothing to date. Jones should go it alone next year.

I've got a theory.could it be that Roos wants Clark gone to free up a spot on the list fir the resurgence of..... Wait for it...... Michael 'Juice' Newton.

An incentive based contract for Mitch and keep on with the aggressive recruiting. ethically.

Maybe Mitch don't want an incentive based contract?

Maybe ethics has nothing to do with what is happening and the 'moral' of the story is that if you don't know the full story, you shouldn't make judgements either way?

THAT WAS THE YEAR THAT WAS: 2024

Whichever way you look at it, the Melbourne Football Club’s 2024 season can only be characterized as the year of its fall from grace. Whispering Jack looks back at the season from hell that was. After its 2021 benchmark premiership triumph, the men’s team still managed top four finishes in the next two seasons but straight sets finals losses consigned them to sixth place in both years. The big fall came in 2024 with a collapse into the bottom six and a 14th placing. At Casey, the 2022 VFL p
