Not sure if you saw the game this week. GWS despite no fit players on the bench, ran away from our players. It was unbelievable. We are a slow side.

You want to bring in a former great player, who was never quick, who hasn't played an AFL game this year, who turns 34 in January and will probably at best last one season, rather than bringing in a youngster, who could have a career ahead of him. Is that correct?

Our past draft failures were a result of BP targetting the wrong type and the game changing.

If we cant learn how to draft well and develop then we may as well fold now.

Cook and maybe Gysberts were surprise selections. All the rest were taken pretty much exactly where they were expected to go.

Then we threw them all in the 22 for every game of the season, with no support, no quality mature players around to carry the load, no good mature players to teach and lead them, and wondered why they didn't develop properly.

Have a look at how Salem and JKH have been handled this year, THAT'S proper development.

18 year olds are not our saviours. We should know that by now.

Tyson is barely 21, yet to have a full preason, and will likely be runner up in the Bluey. Pretty friggin good "bandaid" pal.

Also, you've just made it clear that you expect draftees to star and carry us, how did that work out from 2007-2013? Plus, you're ignoring the fact that 18 year olds don't develop properly without good mature players around them. You're falling into the same trap.

All I remember Roos saying about last year's draft was that they rated the top 10 all pretty evenly, never read anything about "no big bodied mids", but feel free to provide a link/source, cos right now I think you're making it up.

We have Tyson who struggles with a tag and a bunch of draftees who cant get double digits in posession counts. Wouldnt say it was an overwhelming draft last year. Tyson is a bandaid solution when compared to Josh Kelly and now we are looking at doing it again. Our past draft failures were a result of BP targetting the wrong type and the game changing.

Just because it's on the table doesn't mean we'll trade it away from nothing.

Roos might know something we don't. Would you trade pick 2 for say someone like Shields? Of course you would.

I trust Paul Roos. He is not just after quick short term fixes. He said himself after the game that this is a 3-5 year project.

We didn't pay overs for anyone who was a short term fix, like Cross or Vince.

Tyson is a long term prospect and was a great trade.

First of all I think Tyson will be an absolute star. We obviously have a good relationship with GWS but from im hearing Dylan shiel and the likes are close to re signing? He would be the only player id willingly give up pick 2 for.

Where did someone from the club say they didn't use pick 2 because there was "no big bodied mids"? Never read that.

Paul Roos last year said it was traded to get in a experience big bodied mid like Tyson because the top end of the draft were only small mid midfielder like Billings Kelly and Aish.
