Jono O’Rourke

Same could've been said of Dom Tyson - and Anthony Miles.

Jack Hombch from Port.

GWS is a toxic environment, we land O'Rourke we got a gun.

The kid can seriously play.

No not at all, Tyson already had a rising star nomination and looked the goods if you watched him play. So far O'Rourke has been unimpressive. I know Todd Viney has been tracking the GWS players so he will have a good idea on his worth.

Miles is the one from GWS we should have picked up last year, would have been a delisted free agent or Rookie pick, he has an amazing work ethic and is showing how good he is going to be now

I wonder whether those wanting us to punt on O'Rourke what their thoughts are on Toumpas.

If a deal with O'Rourke can be done which doesn't cost MFC too dearly in picks I would definitely take a punt. I don't think we should have taken Toumpas at pick 4 IMO. That does not mean I would now use our current pick 4 on O'Rourke without something else coming back to MFC. Its the potential value for what you give up, so its not really comparable. I think we went overs for Toumpas but if we can get a good deal done then i think O'Rourke is worth the gamble.

My thoughts are that Toumpas is soft and won't make it.

My view is Toumpas has shown alot more than O'Rourke and is the type of player that takes time. He is not a maniac at the ball but he is far from soft. People shouldn't discount the impact of double hip surgery on Jimmy's first two years and I think he will make great strides next year with another full pre-season.

We'll have to use our second rounder on Stretch.

Stretch would go top 15 if not F&S.

That's speculation, and not really relevant to what I'd happily give.

Fwiw I think Stretch is going to be worth a top 15 pick to us, but would be selected 20-30, and we'll eventually get him for a 3rd rounder with some luck.

    FROZEN by Whispering Jack

Who would have thought?    Collingwood had a depleted side with several star players out injured, Max Gawn was in stellar form, Christian Petracca at the top of his game and Simon Goodwin was about to pull off a masterstroke in setting Alex Neal-Bullen onto him to do a fantastic job in subduing the Magpies' best player. Goody had his charges primed to respond robustly to the challenge of turning around their disappointing performance against Fremantle in Alice Springs. And if not that, t

    TURNAROUND by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons won their first game at home this year in the traditional King’s Birthday Weekend clash with Collingwood VFL on Sunday in a dramatic turnaround on recent form that breathed new life into the beleaguered club’s season. The Demons led from the start to record a 52-point victory. It was their highest score and biggest winning margin by far for the 2024 season. Under cloudy but calm conditions for Casey Fields, the home side, wearing the old Springvale guernsey as a mark of res

    BOILED LOLLIES by The Oracle

In the space of a month Melbourne has gone from chocolates to boiled lollies in terms of its standing as a candidate for the AFL premiership.  The club faces its moment of truth against a badly bruised up Collingwood at the MCG. A win will give it some respite but even then, it won’t be regarded particularly well being against an opponent carrying the burden of an injured playing list. A loss would be a disaster. The Demons have gone from a six/two win/loss ratio and a strong percentag

CLEAN HANDS by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons headed into town and up Sydney Road to take on the lowly Coburg Lions who have been perennial VFL easy beats and sitting on one win for the season. Last year, Casey beat them in a practice match when resting their AFL listed players. That’s how bad they were. Nobody respected them on Saturday and clearly not the Demons who came to the game with 22 players (ten MFC), but whether they came out to play is another matter because for the most part, their intensity was lacking an
