GAME DAY - Round 14

If we beat them Essendon go into the 8 Hmmmmmm lets beat them anyway

I have long thought that we will not be reborn completley until we can beat sides like north regularly Time to start Go dees

Can't get there today - my son's local game is at 3pm and finishes at 5pm. Reckon it will be very close, hard and tight with one side kicking 3 or 4 goals in a row in the last quarter to win the game. If we match them physically we win. Kent, Bail, M Jones and the ball-carriers and those able to forward spread will be very important. Carna Dees!

I wanna see the purple rats face after we win today

I'll be there but north and hawks are two teams we just can't get close too and my head says same again today would be stoked to be wrong. North by 34

Best chance to beat them in a while. And a good opportunity for our boys to prove to themselves they are on the way up with 2 in a row.

Looking forward to getting along today, here is hoping it stays as lovely as it is now for the late game.

Hoping we do Norf badly and stick it up purple and Carey the sleaze in a big way. Two people who are involved in footy who of late seem to add to my enjoyment for the game to continue to drop off.

Dees by 28 running away... I hope.

us by 15 pts

CMON DEMONS!!

Its time we knocked them off...far to long getting done by Norf...

Theres room for only one kind of Melbourne in this town!!

BREAK THEM !

well im hoping for a good win today. It would be nice if we were in front for most of the day and not have to fight from a long way back like last week. We owe nth.

I've tipped us.

Time to stand up and beat these plicks.

I think it will be a two goal game either way. We don't have the killer instinct just yet and NM are still riding the wave of desire and application.

What I do not want to see is a period of the game where they slam on 5 goals in 10 minutes. These guys always manage to walk over us for periods like that and it needs to be stopped.

Does anyone know if you would be able to purchase guest passes from the home office if you didn't organise them during the week??

Could bury two big hoodoos today

2 straight wins and finally beating those North pretenders

Come on Demons

North are my third most hated team in the comp, nothing will be f'k'n sweeter then to beat these Norf hacks. GO DEEEEES

About my third as well. I put them in the same basket as Carlton, frauds.

I've always had a soft spot for the blues seeing as my mum goes for them (sadly)

Bulldogs are still my most hated followed by the Saints, then Norf.

I've liked the Doggies since Libba retired... Murphy's one of my favourite players and I have a lot of time for Dahlhaus. Saints I dislike but can't dislike too much because they were my mothers team and North I dislike (but not hate) mainly because their coaches for some weird reason always seem to be whingers.

There are only three teams I would put on my absooute hate list... Richmond, Carlton and Essendon.

I think I'll be leaving this game, cold, annoyed and just another win on Norths belt, but I don't think we will lose big this time.

I am pretty sure that we won't have 100,000 there today so you should not have any trouble rolling up and getting a decent seat.

Yep, done it on a few occasions.

Can't see any reason why we can't win, so we will.

Not necessarily - North has a 1.3% advantage over Essendon, so maybe a 1 point win in a relatively high-scoring game will keep North above on percentage! Which would be grand. Though I'd also enjoy a more comfortable win if possible.

Agreed. Port aside, I don't think any team over the last 8 or so weeks has had one of those periods against us. We're usually good enough to at least stem the bleeding when we're behind (e.g. v Essendon, v Collingwood), so I'd really hope we don't leak goals this week.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

When looking back at the disastrous end to the game, I find it a waste of time to concentrate on the final few moments when utter confusion reigned. Forget the 6-6-6 mess, the failure to mark the most dangerous man on the field, the inability to seal the game when opportunities presented themselves to Clayton Oliver, Harry Petty and Charlie Spargo, the vision of match winning players of recent weeks in Kozzy Pickett and Jake Melksham spending helpless minutes on the interchange bench and the powerlessness of seizing the opportunity to slow the tempo of the game down in those final moments.

  • CASEY: Sandringham

The Casey Demons rebounded from a sluggish start to manufacture a decisive win against Sandringham in the final showdown, culminating a quarter century of intense rivalry between the fluctuating alignments of teams affiliated with AFL clubs Melbourne and St Kilda, as the Saints and the Zebras prepare to forge independent paths in 2026. After conceding three of the first four goals of the match, the Demons went on a goal kicking rampage instigated by the winning ruck combination of Tom Campbell with 26 hitouts, 26 disposals and 13 clearances and his apprentice Will Verrall who contributed 20 hitouts. This gave first use of the ball to the likes of Jack Billings, Bayley Laurie, Riley Bonner and Koltyn Tholstrup who was impressive early. By the first break they had added seven goals and took a strong grip on the game. The Demons were well served up forward early by Mitch Hardie and, as the game progressed, Harry Sharp proved a menace with a five goal performance. Emerging young forwards Matthew Jefferson and Luker Kentfield kicked two each but the former let himself down with some poor kicking for goal.
Young draft talent Will Duursma showed the depth of his talent and looks well out of reach for Melbourne this year. Kalani White was used sparingly and had a brief but uneventful stint in the ruck.

The Demons return to the scene of the crime on Saturday to face the wooden spooners the Eagles at the Docklands. Who comes in and who goes out? Like moving deck chairs on the Titanic.

It's Game Day and there are only 5 games to go. Can the Demons find some consistency and form as they stagger towards the finish line of another uninspiring season?
