Post Match Discussion - Never in doubt

Featured Replies

Let's forgive H- H and welcome him back. Put it down to post traumatic stress from years of supporting a basket case

Lets not 4 points and two wins out of the one game

Salem has a knack of kicking match winning goals doesnt he?

Come on hardtack, we're all in love now... ;)

I believe in a person having the courage of their convictions... H-H's a repeat offender... let him take the long walk off the short pier.

Monday Tuesday Happy days!!

I'm still in disbelief.

Cannot fathom the fact that we actually beat those drug cheating scums.

That whole passage of play to set up the Salem goal was incredible. Roosy said it was the best passage of play for the entire year, and I'd have to agree.

Can't wipe the smile off my face. GO DEES!

Not much difference 2 last week what is the biggest difference 1 kicking goals, last week kicking en points one wins games one loses games.

Great balance of attack and defence in the second half. Great character building win. Where the hell was that run in the first half? Aside from Viney no mid ran to space in the first half. Forwards continually ran to the same spots. Players missed kicks that should be routine. We should have been 10 goals down and the mood on here would be very different. McKenzie and Riley were liabilities in the first half but once Salem came on and McKenzie started actually trying to get the ball when it was there to be won we looked much better.

We played about 40 minutes of footy. We never looked like winning it and still can't quire believe we snatched it. Hopefully, this is the platform we need to go to that next level.

Jamar was immense in the last 40, given Bellchambers had given him a bath in the first half.

Grimes probably played the best game of his career. He should have kicked that first one, but made some good decisions today.

After a one dimensional first half, McKenzie earnt his spot in the second half. He was terrific.

Despite giving away two or three goals from clangers, Dunn was excellent.

Then you have Nathan Jones, who was our most consistent player. What a leader.

Promised to never post on 'land again if Melb won tonight.

Thanks Moon.

Why the hell would he do that?

im sure golden boy was watching from gay paris the land of the serial surrenderers , suck it up sunshine

Victory could only have been more sweet if James Hird was at the ground to watch.

Somewhere in France , a little Plssant is probably getting plssed...ant that nice. Vive le Demon

After tonight, I think your posting name wins first prize for the most appropriate. ;)

How good was Salems after goal celebrations!

You can forget about him barracking for Essendon anymore.

Thanks Moon.

Who cares. But sometimes a mans word is all he's worth.

Agree Pedo was great in starting that last scoring play - but everyone along the chain of play picked the right option - Chip, Jordie, Tommy Mac, Viney & Cross - all of them could have let the pressure get to then and blaze away but it was a perfect chain of footy.

Blatant free kick to Frawley not paid, probably just as well.

afl 360 will be great viewing tomorrow night. with thompson and roos.

Just watched the last 2 minutes on the net. wow and listening to the last quarter highlights on 774 was great stuff. Even better was we won without dawes kicking a goal. From the radio it sounds like dunn was awesome, McKenzie did the job on stanton and cross came back after doing some mistakes.

That last 2 minutes was great. That last play was awesome to watch the way we got the ball to Salem, no panic they knew what to do. Pederson to get that handball to Jones to start that play off was fantastic. And when they got the centre clearence in the end and had it in there forward line, again the players didnt do anything stupid by giving away a free. I think the best moment from that footage was Roosy and the smile on his face and the fist pump.

One of the things I'm most happy about is the belief they will get coming back from 33pts down.

Thanks Moon.

From his posts I would hazard a guess he is still somewhere between 3 to 5 years of getting there yet! Legally.

Wrong again.

we are developing some real poise in close games, I think that will be an asset in finals

absolutely it will. but it should be starting in the VFL games in Finals matches.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.

  • REPORT: North Melbourne

I suppose that I should apologise for the title of this piece, but the temptation to go with it was far too great. The memory of how North Melbourne tore Melbourne apart at the seams earlier in the season and the way in which it set the scene for the club’s demise so early in the piece has been weighing heavily upon all of us. This game was a must-win from the club’s perspective, and the team’s response was overwhelming. The 36 point win over Alastair Clarkson’s Kangaroos at the MCG on Sunday was indeed — roovenge of the highest order!

  • CASEY: Werribee

The Casey Demons remain in contention for a VFL finals berth following a comprehensive 76-point victory over the Werribee Tigers at Whitten Oval last night. The caveat to the performance is that the once mighty Tigers have been raided of many key players and are now a shadow of the premiership-winning team from last season. The team suffered a blow before the game when veteran Tom McDonald was withdrawn for senior duty to cover for Steven May who is ill.  However, after conceding the first goal of the game, Casey was dominant from ten minutes in until the very end and despite some early errors and inaccuracy, they managed to warm to the task of dismantling the Tigers with precision, particularly after half time when the nominally home side provided them with minimal resistance.
