Pay your memberships, turn up to MFC games but don't spend any money at the ground. No Footy Records, no food or drinks, no merchandise other than from the Demon Shop. Hurt the AFL where they feel it, in the hip pocket.

Certainly shouldn't stop going to games, and definitely attend this week in particular. Show support to the club for supporting it's player, and show support to BCNA by wearing pink. I'd suggest banners are the way to go, although I know the G does take banners off people even if they are tasteful. I'd love it if someone funded a #freeviney campaign where someone printed signs ala "No Merger" and handed them out for people to hold up before/during the game but it would need to be a fair amount to make an impact. Can someone contact AHG or another of our sponsors to assist?

Another suggestion if someone or a group of people were game is to turn up with pink ballerina outfits, referencing the comment Gleeson made and showing pink support for BCNA (two birds one stone). Although I have to say I've softened my opinion of him, it sounds like he was actually giving the tribunal an out to clear Jack.

I couldn't not watch a game, but if people wanted to turn their backs i'd suggest the moment our song ended all fans turn their back on the ground until the start of play.

Of course all of this is assuming he doesn't get off, which is still a possibility with the current backlash hitting the AFL.

I went to find the "contact us" tab on the AFL website. It is in tiny writing way down near the bottom, but not out on its own and under a tab where most would never think to look. I get ttaken to a webpage, asked about my windows operating system, what kind of internet connection I have and finally after some minutes, get through to a page where i can give my name and type out my feedback (one of the options in a drop-down box).

I type that I believe the Viney tribunal decision works against the spirit of our game, and until the decision is reversed or the governing rule change, I will not buy any AFL official merchandise, or purchase any products/services from any AFL sponsor etc...

At the last act of this ridiculous system - that is me having to enter my email address for a reply - the "AFL contact us" system will not process my feedback because I am not a Bigpond account holder.

I simply want to scream.

Quite frankly I think we should get in contact with the Bulldogs and see if all the players can run onto the ground with pink Tutus on.

Some sort of a mass visual protest at the game would be the most effective. If there was a mass group of people turning their backs on the game, petitions, dressed as ballerinas/netball players etc then it would get media coverage and that's what would be best. Unfortunately things like letters, ringing people, etc isn't going to do much.

Should the appeal fail then a massive (and slow) chant of Freeeeeeeee Vineeeeeeeeeeey should go up at q time.

I'd say before the game but that would take away from things that are bigger than footy.

And I reckon the Doggers would join in (because they live safe knowing their players aren't the next he will leave in the dirt)

I think I remember trying that once before, takes forever to find the contact us in the first place. ends in frustration. goes nowhere.

Won't make a difference.

AFL > MFC.

I thought everyone on here would have realised that after the Trengove sling-tackle.

AFL < the people

but the people have to unite to make them act.

How about a sign/painting of Viney in ballet shoes attempting a twirl. Hands above his head touching and elbows out.

Good banner I reckon.

The AFL is reliant on people buying or using the products of it's major sponsors.

Take that away from them and they will very quickly take notice.

the biggest message would be to not attend saturday night, and have no one in pink on the ground for their "show case" game for weekend and make it a disaster

Thats just stupid. The club needs our support and the BCNA should in no way suffer for his. Id say all melbourne fans get to the G and make some noise.

Would love to see all supporters of all clubs showering the grounds (for their respective games) with marshmallows... maybe pink ones at the MFC v Bullies game?

NQR (at least at the Lilydale store) are currently selling twelve bags of marshmallows (roughly 2.2kg total) for $4 at the moment. Just saying...

I've found that giving out sweets can be misinterpreted.

Especially by some of the lynamint sniffing Viney fans that watch training in ultra short shorts ,a leather vest and a handlebar moustache. Not that there is anything wrong with that, stu.

Stu looks rather fetching in the Lederhosen.

I now have to find a use for all that manure I've been collecting over the last 48 hours.

And I have to figure out how to get rid of that bubble wrap and tutu I was planning to wear.

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
