If chip goes Tate pears from essendrug as a replacement anyone?? Essendon r hard to deal with but if we only burnt a late pick on him or an about to be delisted player for him and he is found guilty of aod no big loss. But he is a ready to go replacent for chip or handy depth

Also I no I've said it before but butcher from port is a must. Again wouldn't cost much so if we got pears and butcher for nothing much we r then free to trade/draft for midfielders after getting kpf kpb fairly cheap. Also Giles from gws would be a good get

He would have to come with a certificate from ASADA saying that it has not (and will not at any time in the future) issue a show cause notice on this player in relation to his involvement in any supplements programme in the past. Since that's extremely unlikely, the answer is "pass".

I'd go further, I'd be prepared to offer P-3, 4, & 23, for Shiel, Boyd & Jaksch. thats a pretty sound package for GWS, & good value for us as well.

As much as I'd want this to happen, I don't think the AFL will allow GWS to constantly trade out their players for draft picks after a few years of development. At this rate, GWS are constantly going to be trading out and trading in players and will eventually become such a repetitive cycle they will have no continuity or any form of player development or security at the club.

They need to hang on to their players they draft so they can turn into real leaders and players instead of trading out and bringing in the next years future talent. I bet GWS are fuming they gave up Dom Tyson to us especially with how he has played this year. If they had hung onto him for another 3 years imagine what he will be capable of? Which I think what will happen with players like Shiel and Jaksch. If there were to trade, it would be for immediate talent and leadership, not for young kids who are yet to debut in the AFL.

Do you think that someone like Shaun McKernan would be of interest to the MFC?

Hasn't been a regular this year for the crows, yet to turn 24, could be acquired for relatively little and fill a KPF/ruck role that we have had little depth in this year??

I've always liked the look of him, although he hasn't been able to constantly put it together yet. The arrival of Podsiadley has meant that there hasn't been a place in the team for him this year.

This would allow us to trade off our early picks for ready made midfielders and allow time for our younger players to gain experience.

No to Butcher. Appropriate name. We have enough poor kicks at goal as it is. He can mark a ball, that's about it. Spends more time on the injury list than on the park.

Club has to be careful not to just chase a GWS player because he is a GWS player. I reckon GWS now know who they want on their list and who is surplus to their needs. And they are not getting rid of any regulars. Will find that a few fringe players are up for trade, which I would stay clear of for the fact that they have not developed.

Picks 3 4 and 20 odd will be great leverage.

Also the calls to trade Wattsy are just laughable and obvious. What the people on the outside don't realise is that he might be the most popular team member on the list. Trade him and rip the heart out of the list again.. anyone remember James McDonald.

Well im going to do it again and whether you like it or not, Watts has the same impact inside the 4 walls as Jnr had, popular, keeps the players morale up, and is as loved and well respected member of the team as anyone. FACT.

If Hogan plays CHF. We need to go after Boyd.

We also need a shot at Adam Tomlinson, Tyson needs someone to carry his clubs.

I would like to pick up a gun midfielder, somehow I don't see that happening.

We also need to pick up leaders, we don't have any.

Let's not get silly.

Jones

Cross

Dawes

Viney

Toumpas - U18 state captain

Kennedy Harris - Oakleigh chargers captain, first indigenous captain in TAC Cup history

There's just a few names. The last three in particular clearly have leadership qualities within them and all going well will be part of the core group to lead the club into its next phase of success.

to form a CLUB you have to keep the players who Want To B there.... these will be the clubmen & the leaders of the culture, & the others unhappy will rot that culture.

the GWS will be OK with this, even when they lose great players... but they have had access to the best kids in a few drafts so trading them for top picks keeps this access going & they will form a legit elite list who want to be there.

no Fyfes apparently want to go there, but they could get the Podsiadly's... but they need to continue to spread they're List age bracket & continuing to dip into the early draft picks will help with this.

& they will lose others after 5+ years when players have family issues to deal with as well. they are doing what they need to do by trading. it will slow, as they become more successful.

The last 3 will be true leaders in about 4-5 yrs (though not so sure about Toump and JKH). Cross has probably 1 year left. It would be great to pick up some 24-25 yr old guys with strong current leadership, if that is possible, to fill the gap.

I reckon this is a good point, they reckon players reach their peak between 26 and 28, how many players on our list are in that bracket?

Garland, Dunn, Jones, Dawes?

Popular? Is that why they hardly ever kick it to him? Popular doesn't add 1 bean to his value at the moment

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
