Because he was elevated it doesn't mean he had to be picked. They could have gone with Clisby, Toumpas or others. He must have earned his spot.

Too obvious! He's also been included ahead of Nicholson, Byrnes and Blease.

Has earned his stripes, and will now hold his place in the team. Pleased for him.

Rhetorical question....

But, my opinion is that Jetta has shown very little in five years and he's lucky to be on any AFL list.

No one is saying he's a future star, but he deserves his shot given his form and the fact he's had a good run at preseason.

You probably would have cut Jobe Watson too... Some players take a while to reach full potential, but as Melbourne supporters we don't always understand that.

Has he shown any potential worth nurturing? Or, just another poor draft pick, that we're so desperately holding onto to.....

Not every player is supposed to become a superstar.

That logic escapes most MFC supporters.

Agree esp Petterd always thought it was a mistake to let him go. Played a cracker last night. It still doesn't discount the fact that I trust the selectors to give Nev another chance.

No, you're right..that's why we'll always hover between 10th - 16th.

Haha gee it'd be a big salary cap if every team had 40+ superstars....

Oh, so now you're saying not every player has to be a superstar.... Hmmmmmmmm

Here we go....the logician is about to pick apart everything I say.

Sure, every list has some average players, but Jetta is below that....he's just not that good.

Im sure thats why Roos picked him.......because he is below average.

Really hope it works out for Nev. I think he has much upside. I wonder where he fits in a role playing sense though for the team as i just haven't seen enough of him.

Wondering how others who may have seen him recently at Casey view his role in the seniors, assuming he gets a call up soon?

Pick in the 50s.

He is a success for a pick that late.

And, what is wrong with the bloke getting a chance under the new coach?

Nothing.

In my opinion, as a poster on this forum, sharing in a footy debate, I don't reckon he's good enough for AFL footy.

I guess we will find out throughout the year who is, and isn't, up to the standard.

I don't know why we aggressively talk our players down though.

They may not be world beaters but we can use some role players and maybe Neville is one...

Perhaps we talk them down because we've suffered a decade of trauma following the MFC.

"We"? The only one I see talking him down here is you.

The guy gets elevated to the senior list and you ring in the news by dumping all over him. Time and place.

He was pick #51 or something, wasn't he? I agree, mate, he's lacked something in the past, but he can't be any worse than Terlich. If he manages to break even with his opponent and hit targets by hand and foot, he's an upgrade.

For all the doubters, who is our coach again? Has he not been delivering on what he said he'd do, this is no reality bus, he reckons Jetta is worth a go, so I'm happy to see how the season goes. But then maybe it's just me living in the US, they love a redemption story here.

Dumping all over him? Quit the hyperbole.

Too slow for AFL footy.....watch the game. How many slow, 5'10" players get a game for other clubs?

He's a good Casey player.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

    TRAINING: Thursday 9th January 2025

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

    TRAINING: Wednesday 11th December 2024

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
