chhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiillllllllllllllll

Song, I've got to say, I'm excited about what this kid could do. But you're probably right.

Posted

He has had chances, that's why he was delisted.

Next.

Yes, he has had chances but he has also had setbacks like long term injuries and limited pre seasons. Since being delisted, he's been married, enjoyed a good pre season and done everything right during the practice matches and the early Casey games. He's clearly in line for elevation off the rookie list and if his form warrants, I don't see a reason why he doesn't warrant another chance.

I'll be happily proven wrong but I have never seen what the fuss is with him, he has shown glimpse here then 12 weeks later another.

But once again I'm not an expert and maybe Roos will get the best out of him.

But my mind just says Next.

There is no fuss, that's why I like him.

And a chance under Roos.

Again, 'everyone has a clean slate, except for players I don't like/rate.'

Getting married didn't do much for my footy career...

It completely ruined mine - I was on track to be the next Cale Morton.

as am i, but there is no rush to slam him into the side.

10 VFL games minimum for me.

Sorry forgot I spoke to Christian about footy, we normally chat about the EPL, he supports Arensal and I support Everton vying for 4th.....he played forward for Casey last weekend and thoroughly enjoyed it......kicked a couple of goals........they are in no rush with him, told him he will be playing different positions and just embrace each one............

I like the cut of his jib.

How about Jimmy T? Working hard to get back to the top level? Understanding of what he needs to do?

Now you mention, Jimmy T was not at training yesterday, easy to forget when so many players out on the track, so no shows

Spencer, Toumpas, Hogan, Michie

Just on another note, hopefully Harmes keeps developing, he is a seriously big unit, you can see why we took a chance and rookied him, kicks beautifully as well

And finally missed by unscheduled media appearance, was wandering around the new Emporium in city, not by choice haha

I'd like to see Jetta get a run.

He reminds me of Whelan a little, hard at the man and ball and loves to tackle.

His style to me matches the high contested football that's played today....whether or not he'll make it is another question, although on current form he's worth a shot.

The most painful thing about being an arsenal supporter is seeing Wenger still in charge...

Toumpas could come in, but personally I'd keep him in the 2s a while longer to keep focusing on winning the hard ball.

30-odd disposals is a great tally, but getting loose ball was never a weakness.

I hope Nev gets elevated , he is hard and with full fitness will be valuable . More of a footballer and around the same size as Swan Ablett senior and junior . Allthough god would give him trouble

Let's be honest. They'd all give him - and every other player on every team's list - a problem.

For what it's worth, I don't think Swan or Ablett Jr would be able to stop Ablett Sr, either.

pity col never had one

Wonder if WCE have realized that Col doesnt do Pre-seasons....

Yet the "experts" still think we should've taken Kelly.

F-wits.

What annoys me is the "experts" never really mention Salem. I think we accuired just what we needed - a potential star in Tyson who has already been in the footy world for 2 years and could come in and have an immediate impact. We desperately needed immediate improvement for fans and the club and Kelly would not have provided that. We also received Salem at pick 9 in a draft where picks 4-12ish were apparently much the same. The thing I love about getting Tyson and Salem at pick 9 means that Salem has had very little expectation put on his shoulders and can just develop at Casey until ready. I have hardly given Salem or Toumpas any thought this year as our midfield is no longer crying out for help. I think it would have been a different story with Kelly as we would have been putting all our eggs in the one basket and that hasn't worked out well in the past.

people mentioning the Salem-Tyson-Kelly trade

You have to remember we gave up pick 20 as well which became Luke Dunstan (taken by St Kilda) so you cant mention the trade without mentioning him or at least that we gave up pick 20

Yer - but didn't we also get pick 54 which we used on Viv Michie - he might come in handy

Let's not mention any of the whatifs, hindsight is a wonderful thing, let's mention Tyson got tagged by an oppisition 17 games into his career, he has been averaging 30 disposals in his games, he will get used to being tagged, he is feeling more and more comfortable as each game passes (he told me).

Salem will be allowed time to develop his game and have no pressure, we all know what additional pressure can do to players.......playing against men for only the second time, they played him as a forward, still got quite a few touches and kicked a couple of goals, what's not to like......reason he is being taken slowly at the moment forgot he has a bit of a wrist injury, nothing serious....I always forget the footy bits

Toumpas after one game back. enjoying his footy, looked a completely different player at the weekend

The modern game concerns me, it can chew up and spit out young kids at an alarming rate

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
