Have a look at Roos' presser today. He explained his spray to Terlich but spoke very highly of his performances as a whole so far. He almost certainly won't be dropped, in fact he seems to have a fan in Roos.

To be fair he isn't going to belittle a player in front of the media. He explained the spray, saying that clearly Terlich hadn't heard his instructions the first time, but was then quick to praise him as well to make sure everything wasn't just a negative. He may have copped another spray behind closed doors for all we know.

Flemo sorry but you have me at the wrong end of the ground.

Played most of my games as a back man I might let you down up forward.

Wrong look what happened when we last name a half back as captain.

But you are in the leadership group.

I wouldn't just dimiss it as putting on a front for the media. He described him as being very good for 5 weeks, with that one bad quarter being a standout. Terlich won't be dropped.

My changes would be:

Out: Evans, Byrnes, Spencer

In: McKenzie, Blease, Jamar

I can't see how you wouldn't do a straight swap in the ruck if Jamar is ready.

Give Clisby another run in the twos. If he can back it up, he can possibly come in for Gorgeous Georgiou.

Watts is pretty lucky to stay in the side. His refusal to get his hands dirty is [censored] me. Another week of his tip toeing around and he should be dropped too.

I'd also let JKH start and make Kent the sub this week.

I was never one for that shared leadership stuff. In fact the whole concept of "team" baffles me at times.

Carefully Bbo you could end up at Casey!

It's just a ploy OD. I always played FF in my illustrious career. You and I will swap ends before the bounce... Just like BBO and Biffen do on the weekends

Unless Roos has the need to hit the panic button there wont be as many name changes as there will be continued positional ones.

Hes playing footy mastermind...moving them til he sees who clicks where.

Hes not fussed too much about wins per se as he is about gathering info.

Hes figuring who to keep. Its the only positive he can take here.

Im not sure what the maximum is in reality you can achieve as a cleanout but mark my words well see an AFL record come eos.

He wont take this shlt. Hell take measured aim and the list will be churned all but for about 10 over next two years.

My only interest atm in this club is how it morphs from pathetic to competitive.

Some serious changes will come but not this week. His cupboards arent well stocked.

Yeah I agree wiht that BB

I don't see Roos making too many reactive changes for the sake of it.... I just hope he stays long enough to see the job through

We have fitness coaches and skill coaches and still we dont look as if we can run out a game against juniors or constantly deliver the ball to our own players. Maybe its time the MFC called in career guidance councilor to have a chat with our players and see what they want to do once their football career ends because it will most certainly be ending for a few of them at the end of the year.

1 God knows, we don't get paid enough.

1 . Sad but true!!!

2. When I have to do "team stuff" at staff meetings I say "That's fine let's discuss it, but this is the outcome".

Hands are tied regarding who can come in, so there will not be too many changes. Grimes, Fitzy, Watts deserve a spell for various reasons. They won't be dropped yet but if the footy they are playing continues, I reckon Roos will drop them. As soon as there are some big forward options and we don't need so many mid-sized players, these 3 will be under a very big microscope.

So far, Roos has stayed true to his word, and I reckon he will continue.

OUT: Fitz, Byrnes, Bail, Terlich (slim chance),

IN: Clisby, Jetta, McKenzie, Blease (slim chance)

We are already back to the shuffling deckchairs situation of the last few years. We just haven't got the options for many changes. McKenzie however, should be a definite in. At the worst he'll do some serious negating in the midfield.

Maybe we should follow the bulldogs of 2013 approach. Step 1 just win contested ball. Don't even worry about anything else. Name the 22 best contested ball players in the team. Once that's been achieved only then bring in the running players

Have we got 22 desparate contested ball players?

If I'm fullback I want half a mill a year.

One for each goal that goes over my head.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
