New Demonland Banner

Recommended Posts

Pretty sure it's: Garland, Viney, Trengove, Vince, Jones, Roos, Grimes, Frawley, Howe, Hogan, Watts

I thought the same thing Good Times.

I thought Tyson may have been able to sneak in but he has plenty of time to earn a spot.

Just not sure about Howe,

I look forward to the day when Clark and Dawes demand a spot up there.

I reckon you've nailed it.

Maybe not ... That looks like Tysons scone second from left.

A banner with only those who have earned a spot would be interesting, may I suggest it would reveal Roos, Jones, Garland and Frawley, no one else at this point.

Vince and Watts under consideration.

I agree Graeme, the banner should be floating with those that deserve to be there, there and those that don't, not there.

We could have it showing the top players from the week before according to the Demonland player of the year.

Are you trying to create more work for me?

I disagree with those that say players need to earn a spot on the Demonland banner like I'm or we are the judge, jury and executioner. These are guys that are representing the club we love. They represent the stars, our leaders, our club and our hopes for a brighter future. Not many, if any, of us have played at the highest level so in my eyes everyone of the guys that I've chosen to represent the club on Demonland deserves a spot. If you don't like it, avert your eyes and please don't you dare cheer them on when they kick a goal, take a courageous mark, lay a fierce tackle, dash down the wing, burst out of a pack or bleed for us.

I started attending MFC games well before any of the current players were born and in some cases their fathers were born.

I've seen players come and go, I've seen them win enough to get us in to finals, I've seen them win so few we've finished on the bottom.

The current bunch have done very little to EARN my praise and it's neither here nor there whether they make the cut on the banner, as far as I'm concerned.

To be honest if it was done on pure dedication and giving100% every week, there would be only one player up there; Nathan Jones.

When he says his re-signing is "subject to" seeing whether a coach re-signs or not, i believe it is holding the club to ransom. If he says i havent made a decision, waiting till later in the year etc that would be entirely along normal lines a la Buddy

Frawley joked at a presser that if Roos re-signs so will he. Is he not allowed to see whether we are the same basket case we have been his entire career?

If members can hold out on giving a few hundred to see if we are worth it without being damned - should employees be afforded the same patience?

Perhaps I have more rigid interpretation of the crime of ransom.

to be fair on Mitch, he has been nothing short of a superstar when he has played for us, it's just a shame about his injury.

Of course he is RP, but why the need to voice it in public, even jokingly.

While he's part of the playing list he's part of the team and it would surely be better for everyone concerned (particularly for the club) if he kept it in-house. He can still voice his opinion to Roos the FD if he wants and his voice is then heard by the most relevant people 'within' the club.

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play

    EASYBEATS by Meggs

A beautiful sunny Friday afternoon, with a light breeze and a strong Windy Hill crowd set the scene, inviting one team to seize the day and take the important four points on offer. For the Demons it was not a good Friday, easily beaten by an all-time largest losing margin of 65 points.   Essendon threw themselves into action today, winning most of the contests and had three early goals with Daria Bannister on fire.  In contrast the Demons were dropping marks, hesitant in close and comm
