Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Chip Frawley

If people are talking about Frawley leaving, and having the right to do so, then they should also walk from the club.

Frawley is a senior player and is supposed to be leading by example and helping Jones drag this this team out of the hole it's in.

He plays like a defeatest and he makes the most simple of errors which proves that he's either not switched on enough during game day, or he is simply not playing within 'his own' limitations.

He needs a rocket up his arse. I don't know where his head is at but he needs to take a leaf out of his Captains book and start firming up as a senior clubsman and not some self-interested [censored] who plays his own game during matches.

Absolutely nailed it Steve. Plays like a defeatist. He's one of those blokes who looks permanently exasperated by what's going on around him but doesn't take charge. And I'll add that he would be in my top three players who I get extremely nervous about when they have the ball in hand.

I'm actually coming around to the idea that Chip leaving may actually allow us to start assembling a back line with a bit of nous and verve. Lets get some value from him through a trade as I don't see him getting any better. Garland was significantly better than him last year and, whilst I concede they have different roles, Dunn is way better than him this year. Too often he plays dumb football.

sorry not sure what this suggests. Of course he has the right to self determination.

other points reasonable but his is odd...sorry

Yes sure he has the right. But I am sick of it. He is part of the problem.

He can either grit his teeth and help turn this club around, or continue to 'think' about 'his' future and play in a way that clearly displays it. And if that's the case he can [censored] off.

I want players that play and care for the jumper and club. Frawley would be getting great money.

He is playing and acting like a child.

We won't be getting anything in a trade, if he leaves it will be as an UFA and we may get a compo pick unless the AFL changes the rules (which they have hinted at doing in the past).

I agree however while we are left behind bemoaning what he should've done to help us he will be celebrating a premiership with the Hawks.

At this stage if he leaves Band 1 compo which we would get for chip if he gets paid 800k for 4-5 years would be pick 2

obviously you'd like to hang onto senior players, in this case the ship seems like it's already sailed, and pick 2 isn't a terrible outcome, we probably get the better of that deal all things considered.

Trouble is, the more he plays this year, the lower the compensation. It just passes me off that he has seemingly cracked the sads because he's not playing in a winning side.

Ox unleashes on Frawley

Melbourne legend David Schwarz has taken aim at key defender James Frawley following the club's big loss to the Eagles. Speaking on his program on SEN, the man known as the Ox felt Frawley wasn't living up to his potential and him know in no uncertain terms. "I watch him and I get so frustrated 'cause the bloke can play footy. But he is not … I don't know whether it's motivation or he doesn't care, but his decision making and his finishing for a quality player, is crap. It's nowhere near where it needs to be. If James Frawley is going to go on the open market at the end of the year - and he can do that, that's his prerogative - but I tell you now, clubs pick up on certain traits and one thing and I heard Brad Scott speak about it with Boomer Harvey, one thing is you can't question someone's endeavour. Well I reckon there's someone questioning James' endeavour at times. I love James Frawley, I've been his biggest supporter but every time Melbourne plays bad, James Frawley is one player that for some reason can't hold down his position. I know he's getting bombarded. He's a full back that's probably seen more footy as a fullback than any other full back in the last five years. (But he's a) Super player … I just don't understand why that positional, that his effort or the way that he's playing is representative of that at moment. He's nowhere near representative of that."

The last thing the AFL want, believe it or not, is this rubbish performance to continue.

They made sure we were handsomely rewarded for losing Scully. They'll make sure we're handsomely compensated for losing Frawley. Record low crowds and ratings for Melbourne based team home matches are a blight on the game and the AFL want it to end as much as wedo. The broadcasters, especially 7, would be having a stern conversation with the AFL about Sunday's match.

I guarantee the AFL have a time frame, at some point they will say you have had enough time to get this right, time to relocated, or time to pull everything back and start again, or time to merge, they need a team called Melbourne, but atm we are so far off where we need to be it's crazy

It's disconcerning but I'm hopeful of a resurgence on field this season. Whilst the performance on the weekend is alarming, and there is no excuses for poor basic fundamentals, they can do better as a team. As long as there is hope and better performances around the corner, Frawley can still remain a Demon.

Watching the replay, there are some very basic fundamentals left behind by very experienced players.

Guys like Vince lacking any real awareness of the opposition, and turning it over frequently.

Jones not holding onto tackles.

Frawley not chasing...lol who am I kidding he never chases!

Sunday was deplorable. People saying they were okay because they got a lot of the ball: they were absolutely terrible.

The AFL should have given us that extra pick but they are hell bent on making GWS a success. And I just find Gillan McLaughlin, or whatever his name is, a bit of a snake oil salesman so heaven help us if he takes the helm. His performance with the Essendon saga was an exercise in compromise and I don't see him standing up for our needs.

Two wins or less? I'm trying to work out where we could win a game. Maybe Saints at the G.

We don't play the Saints again this year. And unlike us, they are doing their rebuild properly by teaching their new players through the wisdom of their senior players. We just turfed out our senior list and threw all our expectations behind draft picks.

But the AFL must shoulder some of the blame here. Their five years of compromised drafts has deprived struggling teams of the talent.

If that did happen, who would Roosy chase to trade our Pick 2.

They way we are playing we'll nail down Pick 1 without tanking.

Frawley to leave $1.08

Frawley to stay $80.00

Mfc to get compo through draft as next to their round 2 choice #20.

I'd be shocked if we don't get Band 1 compo, we will probably finish last, he is going to get 800k because there is going to be a bidding war that we will be involved in and his contract will be somewhere around 4 years, 800k a year

reckon the compo will be pick 2

Too true.

The AFL will support Roos and Jackson as they want the club to be competitive, only for broadcast, attendance. financial drain and ladder percentage advantages to whoever plays us, reasons.

I would in the middle of the year, demand 5 PP picks from the AFL. 1 for drafting in the first round and 1 for trading in the first round and say 3 at the beginning of the 2nd round to trade or draft with. That is the way to get an immediate impact. 1 PP is almost meaningless given our current position.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
