  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Jesse Hogan - back injury

I'll add the obvious also. Besides being highly inaccurate, the use of the term "stress fracture" is clearly a scare tactic to make things seem worse. Fans accept that impact injuries occur. If a knee to the back caused a fractured vertebrae we would be upset about the bad luck but shrug it off as the sort of injury you get in an impact sport. Stress fracture on the other hand implies an underlying fault. To the fans, the term means a player may never play again, that there may be some issue which will cause this to recur endlessly until the club is forced to let them go. Again, it's a hack trick trying to make more of a story than actually exists.

You're giving him too much credit. Barrett wouldn't know the difference between a stress fracture and a normal fracture.

Give up.

MFC have confirmed the inury. Hogan didn't train today. You're letting your hatred for Barrett cloud your judgment.

I hate DB no more and no less than most of the other "sports journalists" reporting in the AFL. I simply find this story to be too full of holes to be taken seriously.

It's more like a "grab" given the length of the article, yet it's being dissected word for word like the bible.

MFC have confirmed it. It's on the AFL website. It clearly has some form of credibility.

In an article written by DB.

So what. Do you think the official AFL website will just publish anything and everything without any kind of approval process?

Grow up guys. It's not a conspiracy, it's really happening.

Wrap him in cotton wool and send him to perth for a six week holiday... We wont see the best of him until at least three years... Its his first real season, he was never going to play every game this year anyway.... Make sure he is absolutely 100%, before playing him again this year....

This years forward 50 belongs to Fitzpatrick and Dawes.... Who knows? with good supply, they might be a pretty good combo...

Hopefully we can get a fair few games out of Clark this year... Maybe we could rotate Hogan and Clark, so we don't over load the pair...

I just watched the segment a few times and Barrett is clearly layering on the mayonnaise. He may have received confirmation from the club that Hoges has a back issue but his elaborations are totally unfounded.

Is it time for the players association to look into how these reporters are getting the results of any medical tests that are conducted on any player as surely medical results are supposedly medical in confidence also after hearing about hogan just glad no high bridges in Adelaide

The police should be looking at this, forget the AFL and any of their lame departments

When you think about it if the results are sealed who would see them 1; person doing the scan 2;doctor reviewing scan 3;club doctor;4;coach. 5; Physio can't see where Barrett fits in

Hopefully Big Maxy Gawn is avaliable and firing as one of the get out targets along with Fitzy and Pederson.

With the above Howe and a spread of goals from mids/small forwards we can kick enough goals to win against the Saints.

Jesse was just running laps at the closed session on Tuesday.

Jogging 100m Stretching out a bit more for the next 100m.

Did about 4 laps with the physio then 2 laps on his own.

He has a running gate like a pregnant cow, so it is really hard to gauge if he was carrying an injury.

Fantastic. Just absolutely [censored] fantastic.

We finally get a midfield, and what do you know. We have Cameron Pederson to kick it to. Our forward line will be a powerhouse this year

We should of kept Sellar in anticipation of this.

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n

    TRAINING: Monday 29th April 2024

Demonland Trackwatcher Kev Martin was on hand at Gosch's Paddock for Monday's training session and made the following observations. About 38 to 40  players down at training.  BBB walking laps.  Charlie Spargo still in rehab, doing short run throughs.  Christian Salem has full kit on and doing individual work with a trainer. He is is starting to get into some sprints. I cannot see Andy Moniz-Wakefield out there. Jack Viney and Kade Chandler have broken away from the
