My brother spoke with Barassi at length not so long ago. Unfortunately he had to report that it appears dementia is well and truly setting in.

The unspoken price of ever-increasing life expectancy is the pain and suffering (both physical and emotional) that come with growing old.

I'm sorry but this is too profound, intelligent and poetic to be said round these parts.

Please leave, or start speaking dumber.

I read somewhere that he lost his short term memory after that incident when he was beaten up trying to protect a woman from being beaten up by thugs. Either way it's a horrible way to deteriorate. Especially for one like him.

Jones at the right hand of RDB who was then next to Roos. Tells me he's looking very likely for the captaincy. I've seen a few shots but they don't show the full photo and who was on the other side but I'd guess it would be Grimes.

One from seven DF not much of a success rate !

I know your a Mark Neeld fan boy OD but all of them have had a lasting impact on the Club.

Not sure what your pont is DF but I would hate to see the work of those in the photos derided or taken for granted.

IMO Stynes, Schwab and Mclardy saved this club and you can add Cuddles in there as well. Never forget the dire straights this club was in when Jimmy and Co took over and they worked tirelessly to pay off our debt.

I am not saying mistakes weren't made but we should never forget the work these blokes put in and good things they acheived and the hardships they endured over a number of years. I cant think of group of club administrators and coaches who have endured such a long a wretched set of circumstances in my time following this game.

To be able to navigate all the issues and get the club to a reasonably viable state was a fantastic outcome. (PJ will have us in the black in one year, thats not a club without good fundamentles) The on field was, as we all know, shocking but every club with off field issues have problems and we had loads more than most combined with poor recruiting young nexperienced coaches no traing facilities and half an FD n the early years.

I for one would happily buy any of these blokes a beer and wish Jimmy was still here to drink one.

I put the picture up as these guys have had a big influence on the MFC in recent years.

Love them or hate them, everyone will have their own opinions about them.

Bedraggled I think you are trying to have 50 cents each way.

Take out JS for his debt reduction and the rest are miserable failures.

They over saw what may well be the worse 6-7 years in the MFC history.

There was not one failure that IMO was not self created.

Poor coach selection, poor recruitment, poor administration, poor FD selection and administration, poor selection of medical staff.

All these people were at the helm when it was all going on.

Who else is responsible?

The " long wretched set of circumstances " you describe was their own creation.

Please they were well meaning but abject failures.

Notice the MFC logo/watermark across the front, a subtle version of what is on the training tops.

Noticed that on the MFC website article and video. Seems to be only on the red V, not on the blue. Is this to be part of the H&A official jumper? Pretty major change. More 'front and centre' change than the p!ssy collar or stars.

Demonland Trackwatcher Gator attended training out at Casey Fields to bring you the following observations from Preseason Training. GATOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS There were 5 in the main rehab group, namely Gawn, Petracca, Fullarton, Woewodin and Lever.  Laurie was running laps by himself, as was Jefferson.  Chandler, as has been reported, had his arm in a sling.  Lindsay did a bit of lap running later on. Some of the ''rehab 5'' participated in non contact drills and b

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

    TRAINING: Monday 16th December 2024

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. BLWNBA'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I arrived at around 1015 and the squad was already out on the track. The rehab group consisted of XL, McAdam, Melksham, Spargo and Sestan. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov
