oh bugger you hardtack what did I say that was disrespective of mitch , he is a great fav of mine , what did I say that shows disrespect , ? im waiting

Did I mention you BD? I was responding to Lordweaver's seeming justification for the comments flying around. I cannot even recall what you said and don't feel like going searching through this thread at the moment.

y'know does mitch read these posts. I think not, you seem to be saying he does, where are your facts?

Should that matter?

Does that mean you say whatever you like without a care in the world because you don't think it's likely that one particular person will read it?

Most people don't live by those rules and prefer to hold themselves to a higher standard.

Since this forum is a privilege, not a right, I'd have thought most people would try to be respectful where possible...

nice work machsy, I think this should be a forum where all points of view, outlandish claims, whatever can be aired and debated etc, not sure what your higher standards are alluding to, have another chardonnay

Well regardless of what you think this forum should be, the owners of this site think the way they do and if nothing else, you should respect that.

One is actively working to get his body right at the club while the other has taken 35k per week personal leave and is actively working on his photography. Slight difference?

Mitch Clark is obviously facing significant mental health issues and is doing the right thing and getting the help he requires to help him deal with those issues.

As his employer the Melbourne Football Club is doing the right thing and standing by him and supporting him as he seeks to get well.

That makes me proud of my football club.

No... it just happened that you were being discussed by Lordweaver when I jumped into the conversation. Mine was a general comment not directed at any one person in particular, but probably prompted by my memory of mjt's rantings.

35k a week for taking photos, yep I can get angry at that, and at the same time feel for him and hope he makes a good recovery, does one feeling have to come at the expense of another?

It's ok to have the feeling... but there are some that want to blame Mitch for that.

If he's just done a calf on the back of a hammy then I'd say as long as he's icing the calf, doing a bit of swimming or other light cardio that he can do then for the initial few weeks it will make little difference. At some stage in a few weeks time it will presumably be time for him to resume conditioning activities that are best served at the club. But if the other issues aren't sorted then it's a waste of time anyway.

The initial time away sounded like a good idea to me. But eventually after a break the best way for anyone to get back to their best is to get back to work if they can. WIthin about a month from now I would like to here that he's back at the club even if it's just part time for some conditioning and then some time with the players who are his friends.

Probably right here 'master', with the injury a bit of rest then back into the conditioning phase. If as you say the other issues get sorted that is.

We think he is but don't know for sure. I think the depression card gets thrown around too easily and it may not be the case here at all.

I received an email today suggesting that he may not play again and it was from a usually very reliable source, I hope it's wrong.

BTW another part of the rumour was he had altered his running style to accommodate the foot injury and that had lead to soft tissue injuries.

the person didn't have the initials RR?

I heard somewhere that his missus was homesick and went back home to WA taking his child with her, hence the big dilemma in his life.

The club allowed him to go back home and sort it out.

The injuries are secondary.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was
