Clark played with Nathan Jones like passion. It is rare to see in the red and blue.

If Clark doesn't get back, we'll all be disappointed, but as it stands he is a MFC player - so let's get behind him.

If he does return and can play injury free, he will reward us ten fold.

I don't know why people go on about money, we've had highly paid squibs on our list for a decade now, at least Clark plays with passion and courage.

Hear hear - go the mighty Melbourne Demons!

I really hope Clark can get well and play for us again... It would be disappointing if he doesn't return...

after pinning my hopes in Scully and then Jurrah.... I'm a bit over individual players... If he can't make it, so be it....

I hate to say it, but I'd like to know now if he is going to come back and if so, when. If he wants to take photos of his girlfriend all day that's fine, but his absence is hurting big time.

He needs to make a choice. Does he want to play footy anymore or not? The hope is worse than the reality if it is empty hope.

I don't think hassling Clark is the answer.

We have Dawes and Hogan on the sidelines, let's just get them on the park - then worry about Clark.

Dawes isn't going to be a huge improvement, and Hogan is a first year player. They aren't Clark by any stretch.

I don't want it to be seen as hassling. But being in the dark on where he is at is frustrating, moreso when watching him focus on his photography with such enthusiasm, which we are paying him to do. I'd like to know if and when he is coming back, and for someone in his situation, that isn't unreasonable.

I have sympathy and I'm backing the club in, but it only extends so far.

These days all organisations nurture mental illness, they identify it and go about treating it.

Pushing mentally ill players away isn't how to run a club.

I wouldn't want to support a club that just cut guys who were mentally ill - and players wouldn't want to come here also.

If you are going to be angry, fair enough, but isn't the fault of this football department, it is the fault of the last.

The writing was well and truly on the wall before we drafted Clark.

I'm well aware of all that. But does he still WANT to play footy? Can anyone honestly answer that? We have no idea. Some transparency in that regard would be good. It would certainly make it less frustrating. And the timing is hugely frustrating. Anyone who says otherwise is lying.

Obviously he isn't in the right frame of mind to even decide if he wants to play football.

After treatment, then hopefully we'll get answers.

Pushing Clark right now, that solves nothing.

Let's just concentrate on what we can control, which is Dawes, Hogan, Viney, Jamar, Gawn and getting Garland back out there.

Forget about Clark. Even the media is leaving this one alone.

Out of interest what pick (and who was selected with it) did we give up.

He is a cracking player, I will be shattered if he doesn't play again.

We could have drafted Ellis from Richmond.

Thanks for that sparkling piece of insight.

I would tend to disagree based on my experiences. He would know if he still has a desire to play football again. He clearly isn't in the frame of mind to dedicate himself to it, but I believe he would know if the desire is there or not.

It is situations like this where being on the outer is really frustrating, that's all.

'Sorry Clarky, you're not able to play football so you shouldn't focus on your other hobby either'.

I see what you did there

What difference will it make if he decides now or end of season? It's not like we can trade for another KPF in April.

You're frustrated? Imagine how he feels.

I really feel like this thread should be locked, start a new thread when we get something factual to go on.

You obviously dont understand much but recruiters work and plan all season on how to tackle the off season which includes speaking to players managers. If Viney and Taylor know in April we need a new KPF they can start working on it then rather then waiting until seasons end when many of the potentials could be re signed.

I think it's pretty clear we'll be looking at KPF's anyway... haven't you watched our last couple of games?

MFC supporters have to get over this 'but he's got so much capability/potential' thing. Move on. Start looking for someone else who can deliver, not who might deliver.

We also need to be consistent with what other clubs do. Do stars at other clubs go on hiatus during the season? What are the precedents?

When the personal circumstances are serious, are they still given a time frame in which they must come back to the club with a response/decision?

Gee Clark injured, Dawes injured, Hogan injured... Might be a remote possibility we're already thinking about it, especially given Roos already said Clark was going to be a ruck rather than a forward.

You obivously just don't pay much attention.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

Demonland's own Whispering Jack was not in attendance but he kicked off proceedings with the following summary of all the Preseason Training action to date. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
