Heard PJ on SEN this morning and he said something very interesting in that "when he and PR took their jobs at MFC it was for short term but having been in the role and amongst the AFL industry again u can change your mind"

Hopefully that boads well and means both will extend their tenure at the Dees.

We can only hope that if the team on and off the field improves it will encourage both to stay on for longer.

I never thought that Roos would only be here for three years. He might not be head coach, but I still think he would move into a role at the club that drove strategy and had the knowledge and the where-with-all to get things done. For NFL fans, the 'Senior Vice President of Operations' is the terrible title given to this role.

So even if he is not head coach, we have to try and convince PR that whatever he sees as his next role - it can be done at the MFC.

Yep, they only like to go one way. Pendlebury named it last year but remained one of the offenders.

Now I don't put PJ in the same category as CS.

But to answer your question I have no idea, but it is interesting that no one has picked up on this comment.

I think we can be confident it is not a car company.

Agree with you, some times his media profile and capability clouds his lack of experience and ability as a coach.

From the outside looking in he doesn't seem to have handled the group well at all, it seems he is in some kind of mini rebuild but the natives will get very restless if they fall away this year. Eddie might have his work cut out.

There were a number of issues bubbling around Collingwood last year relating to culture and discipline and I believe that essentially Bucks and Neeld are of the same cloth in terms of their harsh, demanding natures which doesn't sit well with the modern highly paid footballer.

We've seen Heath Shaw and Daisy Thomas go and there has been tension between the coach and some of the more experienced players such as Harry Lumumba, Dane Swan and a couple of others. As the Tiriel Mora character said in The Castle, "it's the Vibe" and I sense there a troubled year coming up for the Pies.

If that was Schwab talkin he would have spoken about us being the oldest club and would have mentioned past players and gone on about the mcg being our home. Then he would have spoken about the blazers that were his brilliant idea.

Its good that PJ isnt wasnt connected to our club before hand. He just tells it like it is.

Don't use the Peter Principle to promote people out of their skills. PJ is a top-rate CEO and Roos is a top-line coach. Let them stay at what gives us the best value and if PJ leaves lets's get another top-shelf CEO [not Roos].

It was all propaganda under CS, I think his problem was apart from sticking his nose in the FD he didn't know when to stand down and if he had his way he'd probably still be the CEO and we'd be climbing towards 10 million in debt by the end of 2014.

If we are unable to secure Roos and PJ longer than there current contract terms then an important KPI for each one of them is ensure they have recruited and embedded the best possible successor who is at least as capable and competent. Roos and PJ need to establish the right elements for ongoing success if they choose not to be directly a part of it.

Sorry but when I think back to recent AGM's I didn't notice that great a change in presentation and in the things that the speakers stressed on the night. The only difference I saw was in the way Paul Roos ran his presentation which was as polished a performance as you can get. It was all too brief as I would have liked to have seen one or two of the younger recruits but I suppose Roos wanted to keep them under wraps.
