With Roos on board, Jack can now only blame the guy in the mirror for what happens next...

Fingers crossed.

They both played as point guards, you twit.

What are you on about??

I could have done without the 'you twit' bit but I stand corrected.

Romey is clearly a signwriter.

Jack Watts a midfielder? That's funny.

Btw, can we get rid of that apostrophe in the title?

move it might be more appropriate

There seems to be a lot of comparisons and analogies being made in this thread and here's another one for you. It seems to me now that we're hoping Watts will develop into the player Cale Morton never did. If Watts can develop his engine, more frequently use his burst speed and showcase his much discussed disposal skills he might become a very difficult match-up on the wing floating forward. It pains me to say it, but that's about as much hope as I now have.

would have thought the apostrophe as in Demons' is correct

Yep, it got shifted - stage left.

Bulldust, if you're still in the camp that our player development has been good enough to allow our players to become their best then you seriously have NFI.

Everyone knows that player development at Collingwood has been much better compared to ours

I've never made reference to a basketball analogy, thank you.

My comparison centres on their physique and their ability to use the ball so exquisitely well. As I pointed out, if Watts was drafted by the Pies in '08, I'd half expect him to be as good as Pendles right now.

So, if Collingwood had of drafted Watts you think he would be up there with Pendlebury and the best mids right now, What exactly do you base this comment on? Actually, don't bore me with your coulda shoulda woulda been dribble.

Get it, Collingwood wouldn't of drafted him, they wouldn't have chosen him...he's not their type.

Well FMD. Maybe we should have kept Neeld if it was that simple.

It is that simple, he's had opportunity and been injury free, stop making excuses for him. Edited by J VINEY FAN

Jabberwocky is on the money, Watts should not do any media and let the footy do the talking

Traded him for pick 14, which we used on Jack Grimes.

Probably the only trade we've nailed in the last 50 years.

There aren't too many are there.

Jeff White was a win, Peter Moore won a brownlow with us, Darren Bennett

That's correct! Move it off the title.

It's a possessive apostrophe is it not?

Ladies'Night?

Perhaps not needed but not incorrect if a little old fashioned.

Or I might just be a pedantic tosspot.

Tinker's cuss!

Edit: apostrophe.

How do you not get that he doesn't have a choice about publicity. He gets paid a certain amount in ASA and he has to do what the club asks him to. I doubt very much that likes seeing his head everywhere.

I'm an unashamed Jack Watts fan. I really believe that he will make it and make a lot of posters look silly. Lets back of our loyal players who had the opportunity to jump ship and decided to stay.

My 2 up has the number 4 on the back of his jumper

we already know most posters are silly (except a few of us)

It is the possessive plural (Jack Watts of the Demons), so surely it is quite appropriate.

(Self confessed pedant, especially when it comes to apostrophes)

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
