Pfffffft.

What "Roost It" knows about footy could be written on the back of a postage stamp.

Consistently over the years he's shown as much.

Wouldn't be concerned with his Richmond-style "support" for the club and player.

The only thing roost it has shown consistently over the years is to have the one account unlike yourself. Edited by mjt

I think we are starting to see the rise of the Toump. If you look at the picture of him on the Melbourne Website, his frame is already starting to look stronger and has been a stand out at training.

I reckon this year we are going to start to see what the Toump is made of and how come we so confidently took him over Wines.

Absolutely cannot wait for this!

saw plenty to say ,your right

FD,protected his frame last year

got some games under his belt

recovery from a hip complaint

good pre with misson

more abled bodies around him at senoir level

dont have any debates about this issue

All I said was I don't believe he has the mettle to become the star so many of you see. Your reactions are that of an hysterical CWA meeting but at least they can bake.

I don't eat 4n20 pies as chewing on the [censored] of a cooked poorly treated dead animal isn't for me.

I haven't seen nothing in Toumpas that would suggest he'll be a star.

But at the same time he hasn't had a fair run at it either, he shouldn't of been out there last year.

Everyone seems eager to suggest he'll either be a star or a failure, but how about we give the kid a bit of time before we cut him down.

Does the double negative suggest that you have in fact seen something?

I have seen some good things from Toumpas, but none that suggest he'll be a star.

(Maybe if I'd of had the luxury of watching a handful of SANFL games in 2011 I'd have a different view on that.)

But you'd be hard strapped to find a kid who shows star potential - when he shouldn't even be out on the field.

Toumpas had double hip surgery, no pre-season and basically came in without any core/weight work.

I don't think it's a knock on the kid to say he hasn't shown star potential in his first year, given what he went through.

The last time Toumpas got a decent run at it was in 2011 and by all reports he was electric.

So I completely sit on the fence in regards to Jimmy and see no need to rush to cut the kid down.

Unbiased and knowledgeable comment King. All anyone asks for is a fair go. Lets give the kid a fair crack at it and pass judgement thereafter.

People should go back and look at the first few seasons of some of the current AAA players. Short memories.

It takes time, and some take more time than others. Meanwhile, if Toumpas can regularly earn his place in the team for 2014, he'll already be doing more than OK.

Better to suffer from premature expectations than no expectations at all.

dunno et, 50 years of such takes its toll

i can see the toump becoming this year's whipping boy if he doesn't turn into cinderella overnight

Your forgetting the lips and ears. There is nothing wrong with a luke warm 4n20 high fat offal bag at the footy washed down with a watered down low alcohol beverage. It makes the day complete.

Just on Ollie Wines, Jack Viney and his missus spent new years with Ollie and his mates in Echuca. Im hoping Jack was biting Wines ear off in crossing over the border..

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
