We should draft Evan Panozza. He seems like a handy footballer.

You been recruiting for Melbourne for the past decade by any chance?

Yep. Your reading too much into it.

Although I dont think its a great look for a player of a club to wear another clubs colours.

Maybe at mad monday / wacky wednsday for a joke.

Rightly or wrongly, my heart just went into my socks for a brief moment.

Freo fans would be loving that.

Adam Cooney was at the GF wearing a Hawthorn scarf.

It's not really a big deal.

Bit of a difference.

Freo is where he is from, they are a big club over in Perth with a massive fan base, talenyed group of players on the up in the next few years, and in real need of a key forward. I expect Freo to put a massive lucrative offer to him in two years if he doesnt sign with us. It would be a massive pulling point for him.

If they did, we'd still have to agree to a trade - and it'd have to be one hell of a trade for the MFC to let him go.

It's gonna be a long long time until he qualifies even as a restricted free agent.

Thats a silly post. You know that situation was different.

Completely different. The rule that allowed him to leave for GWS was GWS specific and limited to that year.

They (nor anyone else) can do it again.

He will be at the MFC in 2016 if we lift our game substantially between now and then.

If we don't IMO he will be gone.

For that matter if we don't lift our game between now and then there may not be much of the MFC left.

pretty dumb thing to do... but talk of Freo pinching him has no more legs than dozens of other young guns who are playing interstate.. it very rarely actually happens that someone 'goes home'

This is Hogan we are talking about though. He plays like a Jonathon Brown and with Freo in need of serious Key Forward they will be keeping close tabs on Jesse and if he makes an instant impact in the AFL expect Freo to throw a massive offer ala Buddy that will be too good to refuse. Though I hear he enjoys living in Melbourne money does talk..

yes but as alluded to earlier, Freo is not in a GWS position to just make a mockery of the salary cap and give a huge offer

They are gonna clear some salary cap space by the time Hogan's contract is up with us, With Pavlich, Sandilands, Mcpharlin and even Bradley all going next year they can defiantly afford Hogan.

And yet again, I say - the MFC must agree to a trade.

Hogan can't leave entirely of his own accord until he is a restricted free agent. Even then, we can match the offer.

We're all paranoid because of what happened with Scully, but that was an exception given to GWS in their first year of existence to take one player from every club if they wanted to.

Freo can throw whatever offer they want at Hogan, he can't move unless we agree to a trade or he becomes a free agent. I think restricted free agency comes in after 8 years at the club, so this won't happen until 2022. We have a lot of time to plan for that eventuality.

how could they have more dispensible cap space than us though with our zero stars

lol also this.

Plus we're front loading all our big contracts right now - Dawes & Clark.

We're in a good list management position, we can keep rotating the big earners on front loaded contracts because we started with such a small base.

Disappointing seeing that but he probably had to barrack for someone on GF day. Anyone know who he supported growing up?

Can't be 100% certain but I actually recall hearing somewhere he was a Crows fan as a kid, I think one of his parents is from Adelaide!
