Viv-a la Michie !!

Love this from dockerland.com:

Just got off the phone to Bondy. Both clubs agreed on the use of a complex formula in determining what number pick the Dockers were to receive in exchange for Viv. The formula is as follows:pick number = total number of minutes played MINUS number of years spent on AFL list ADD number of foot operations LESS number of times named as an emergency

On a different note, seriously poor that the club website still has not posted anything up on this. Really should be written up the moment it's on the AFL website.

My Freo supporting mate's comments when I asked about Michie were "Quality" and "You won this one".

We also had a bet of sorts about 4 years ago where he was adamant Jay Neagle would kick 40 goals in a season, and I said that he had the speed of a slug and 40 goals was fantasy.

Hopefully his judgement has improved in the interim.

Surely that formula was supposed to be kept secret! The AFL would be livid that got out!

Considering the time of the announcement, and that it's not official yet, just broken by a journo, now outside of business hours, I don't think it's all that unreasonable.

Do you think the club's PR/ social media department should be on call 24 hrs?

We can wait until morning, honestly...

Not in this day and age :) we want it NOW!!!

Plus with 96% of what has been going on around here being complete and utter dribble for 2 weeks solid, some people are gagging for official information, not mindless drivel

Good eyes Webber, would have been better if he played for West Coast.

Love the second part of your post - that's what we've got to try and sell....a future, a career, success.

I hope we can.

If you type "Viv Michie" into google images, Ben-Hur's little avatar pops up a few lines down.

I'd recognise that face anywhere.

Kate Upton... type her name and cat daddy into youtube and you can thank me later

Or staring contest.

Looking forward to see what he can produce for us and himself under Roos' tutelage.

And it is good to hear that the Freo blogsite is unhappy!

Also just waiting for the usual suspects to post "this guy is / will be an absolute gun"! Hopefully this will be held in reserve until something is produced to justify it.

Great trade.

Michie for 54 is a steal for us. Of course, he mightn't turn out as we'll be hoping, but for 54 that isn't going to hurt us, and the upside to this stands to be enormous.

Best of all it's a tentative pick 54. There's still compensation picks for Franklin, Thomas, Betts, Sylvia, Ellis and White to be factored into it, so currently it's looking like a pick 60.

Some massive injury question marks but not much of anything was given up for him, I'm happy with the trade.

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. When he’s on song, he’s unstoppable but he did blot his copybook with a three week suspension in the final round. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns. He showed great resilience in coming back from a nasty rib injury and is expected to continue in that role for another couple of seasons. It was another strong season from McVee who spent most of his time mainly at half back but he also looked at home on a few occasions when he was moved into the midfield.
