As opposed to all the other weeks, that have been kind? Most of the time the week after we play anywhere is unkind. We lose so often that it's impossible to say if Darwin is a factor or not.

That's true but why leave anything to chance?

Now that we're literally in bed with the AFL it shouldn't be too hard for us to request demand that our Darwin fixture be played in the week before our midseason bye to ensure that we get the desired rest anyway.

Incidentally, that's exactly what happened with the Western Bulldogs v Port Adelaide game in round 10.

I can only hope that the idea was actually raised by Jackson . i.e Darwin then our bye. Wouldnt think it asking for the world.

It's stated on the AFL site as being 'quad', but who knows.

Big game for Tapscott. Must show something.

I wonder if the dry weather and quick game can get some spark about him. I've been a big fan of his potential but when I watch him I see a player who looks as if he is treading water. May need to lose a few kgsover summer, add some dash.

Does anyone think we can stretch them up forward today? Watts Dawes fitzy and Howe in the dry weather, could be a strength to keep us in it similar to the Sydney game, that is make our forward entries count.

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.
