Goodes (pretty certain it was Goodes) was adamant that the players knew nothing about this till it happened

Read somewhere that McVeigh and the leadership group were consulted and they gave a thumbs up to the idea.

Whether or not terms were disclosed, I have no idea.

Yeah have since seen it written (prob here) McVeigh knew before finals, leadership group after

Are on holiday but I hear from a contact that Hogan is loving the direction of the club.

I think that we're all loving the direction of the club.

Well, mostly.

Not saying its easy hard or otherwise, just not impossible

You are correct in my opinion.

Here's hoping he can validate that love by signing a 12 year contract.....

We still need to do a deal for jamar, to free up a senior position.

It would be great if we can draft;

Crouch/Freeman

Zac jones

Cavarra

Garlett

Put those players ontop of our existing new recruits, and we have a very exciting list.

Am I the only one who would be perfectly happy if we shut up shop and enjoyed what we've already gained? This has been a great trade period for us so far. I think any deal that comes up now will have to be pretty special to improve what we've already done.

No way,

Tyson has enormous potential - great get. Body has been a bit fragile but highlights package is tremendous.

Vince - solid good get

Cross - good tackler, ball getter, may get a couple of years

Michie - talented but unproven, fragile body (in the injury sense)

Pick 9 - a few yrs away from helping us.

Viney and Toump are a yr older which is great but still a few yrs away from dominating

If you think this is enough you are wrong. We need way more than this. We have the worst midfield in the comp and have picked up some good players but not elite (Tyson may become that). We need at least one elite midfielder to add to the list and possibly two.

We must continue to trade. We had one player averaging more than 20 possessions - NJones. We now have 2 more. A good start..We need someone who get 25-30 possessions a game regularly.

Latest rumuor from the Dees facebook...

"I don't normally get involved in this rumour [censored]. But my mate plays with someone related to a certain GWS player with the initials AT. And apparently we're doing another deal with GWS that will see us give up pick 9, and a player for AT and a player."
He doesn't name them but there are two players with those initials - Adam Treloar (midfielder) and Adam Tomlinson (193 cm forward).
Have no idea whether its bullsh1t or not.

Wouldn't cough up pick 9 for either of those boys personally.

depends who the other player is i suppose, Treloar and O'rourke for Blease and pick 9 sounds good to me.

Only 3 more days to go, thank god.

Adam Tomlinson went to Trinity with Dom Tyson and they're best mates. Would definitely be him as GWS won't let Treloar leave. But he's not worth it, not for us at least.

Adam Treloar averaged 22.9 touches a gamein his second season. If he was available for pick 9 it would a fantastic pick up. Though I doubt they would give him up. Tomlinson is a good key back but I doubt we would give up pick 9 for him.

Maybe it's just me, but that line always reminds me of lines like "I'm not a racist, but..." :)

Not to take the topic too off hand but have you heard Doug Walters and David Campese on Fawad Ahmed... Closet racism at its finest.

isn't capitalism born from racism? divides us into i ?

isn't exploiting ones advantage over another country's needs, to better our needs over theirs, a form of racism?

# on the potential of another kid/player coming in, I think Roos said he'd look to find trades for some of ours, before the end of trades this year?

I think for this off season we have done enough trading. We have added some very good pieces to go with some, hopefully, good draft selections. We can start to improve and consolidate our list while also starting to regain some respect. Come the end of 2014 we can hopefully entice a few more players (and get Billy Stretch via F/S) who are now more willing to play for our club now that they see the improvements we have made. I think we've done extremely well to not only cut some fat from our list but also add some legitimately good pieces along the way. No need to get greedy now.

My source says we are only a 23.8% chance.

My source says 17.8%.

Capitalism is not capitalism unless both sides benefit from the transaction. If you're taking advantage -- using someone as a means -- then it's not capitalism. That's closer to crony capitalism aka. communism.

Racism is born of individual fallacy. Don't degrade the worth of the individual with your closest commie crap. "I" will always be great than the "we".

"The smallest minority on earth is the individual. Those who deny individual rights cannot claim to be defenders of minorities.

Whilst i essentially agree I see no harm in keep an eye out for anything else which betters our position. If its there, take it. :)

Ah yes. The minority group of Christians. That explains why politicians and society don't pander to religion. Oh wait...

Meanwhile, any news on the Josh Kennedy rumour front? :)

I'm pumping sources on this one right now. Nothing to report yet however. Other than a certain player reportedly loving being at the club now.

I hope this is true, because every Freo supporter in the west reckons they're going to poach him from us after his first two years!

Agree Treloar is the pick of their young mids IMO. I would happily do a deal for him using pick 9.

lets hope SOS comes to the party, blinded by his draft pick addiction!

hahaha there is only one truth its all bullshyte. politics & exploitation is an individual thing. no matter how you choose to see it.

a 10 mill over 9 yrs in a trade as one example.

of course we should keep trading

when you're up by 6 goals you don't just say 'eh that'll do'... you increase your lead!

  • REPORT: Fremantle

For this year’s Easter Saturday game at the MCG, Simon Goodwin and his Demons wound the clock back a few years to wipe out the horrible memories of last season’s twin thrashings at the hands of the Dockers. And it was about time! Melbourne’s indomitable skipper Max Gawn put in a mammoth performance in shutting out his immediate opponent Sean Darcy in the ruck and around the ground and was a colossus at the end when the game was there to be won or lost. It was won by 16.11.107 to 14.13.97. There was the battery-charged Easter Bunny in Kysaiah Pickett running anyone wearing purple ragged, whether at midfield stoppages or around the big sticks. He finish with a five goal haul.

  • CASEY: UWS Giants

The Casey Demons took on an undefeated UWS Giants outfit at their own home ground on a beautiful autumn day but found themselves completely out of their depth going down by 53 points against a well-drilled and fair superior combination. Despite having 15 AFL listed players at their disposal - far more than in their earlier matches this season - the Demons were never really in the game and suffered their second defeat in a row after their bright start to the season when they drew with the Kangaroos, beat the Suns and matched the Cats for most of the day on their own dung heap at Corio Bay. The Giants were a different proposition altogether. They had a very slight wind advantage in the opening quarter but were too quick off the mark for the Demons, tearing the game apart by the half way mark of the term when they kicked the first five goals with clean and direct football.
