It doesn't matter whether the poster is a Foundation Hero or a guy in the US who can't get to games, if they post what I consider to be a ridiculous argument, I will post why I think that. of course atop his pedestal will look down on me and gently abuse me

Wasn't referring to his status as Foundation Hero, blockhead, but the content of his posting on the Foundation Heroes thread.

Saty, obviously John Dee did not even read the posts, or did not understand them. Clearly we have a problem as I referred to before. All power to you for sticking to your guns.

The self satisfied complacency of some demon supporters on here simply amazes me.

As for attentive reading of posts, see above.

And as far as self-satisfaction were you talking to Satyriconhome or about him? His prosecution of a smug she'll-be-right version of things seems to be producing most of the ballast on many threads nowadays.

and you would leave it the way it is would you?

What is your crowd prediction for QB Saty, after we are humiliated by Hawthorn?

How many will be there??

well I guess the usual 70k Magpie fans will turn up in anticipation of an easy win - Mark, this is THE WEEK for the team to bethehardest team to play against. IF we could upset the Pies , and I know it is a huge enormous IF, much would be forgiven, or at least temporarily forgotten anyway.

A mate of mine who used to support Fitzroy, then Sydney (when he lived there for 10 years) is returning to Melbourne after a stint in London, and declared he was going to follow the Mighty Demons, because he "loves the Underdog" and can see how special it will be when we rise.

grasping at straws silver lining etc... but maybe an idea for our Marketing team.

Ah yes, Melbourne Student Union and Socialist Alternative.

Jeez, thanks for the information, would never have realised.

There is, of course, a difference between being well-read and reading well, which you amply demonstrate.

Don't really get that one sat. We are predicted to return to 5 mill debt. We can't win a game. Player dissatisfaction. Coach going to be sacked. Supporter unrest.

Everything's Rosie?

The 5 million loss is contingent upon the coaching staff being sacked. If we keep them on then two of your points are gone instantly. Supporter unrest can be helped by everyone on these boards chilling out and letting the man coach. Player dissatisfaction is a rumour perpetuated in the media (how do I know this? I don't but then there is just as much evidence for my side as for theirs). That leaves the only real problem that we can't win a game right now. I'd rather wait until the end of the season to see how that one pans out.

Who cares if the general public think MFC is a joke. Once we start winning on a regular basis people will jump back on board. When we are good wouldnt kids want a membership startig at our darkest hour.

A mate who is a social worker tells the kids he works with that it is cool to barrack for the under dog and that only losers barrack for a team that is winning. The definition of a loser in my book is someone who has been a Geelong "supporter" since 2007.

Yet another thread derailed by Satyr's self-serving bullsh!t. Hoo [censored] ray..

Be aware that if Satyr does not agree with you, or if you post anything negative, he WILL respond to you in a belittling and demeaning manner. The idea that people use Demonland to vent their frustrations about the club's current plight, clearly does not compute. I'd request that posters stop reacting to his obviously inflammatory retorts, but clearly that's never going to happen. He will always get bites, and Mods appear unwilling to put a stop to it.

I will however ask, AGAIN, that if you're going to turn a thread into a highschool playground, take it private. I come here to talk football, not observe every second thread become an exercise in assisting a narcissist feed his needs online.

Funny, I come here to talk football and every thread gets derailed by the anti Neeld mob. Same problem viewed from different angles.

Forgiven! No Way! One win means nothing.

There will need to be a complete turn around in consistent performances for that to happen.

But would agree that is would be a start in the right direction.

I’d noticed, P_Man.

I’ve tended to keep my counsel on threads like this because I live too far away to have formed anything like a useful knowledge of the coach/players/football department issues and problems. I think it’s important, though, to get a perspective on what others from all sorts of different backgrounds have to say. If nothing else there’s a small sense of solidarity in knowing we all feel the pain, even when or perhaps especially when that leads to disputes about causes and outcomes and solutions.

Mr Home does a very good version of contempt, but that’s all he seems to offer, particularly as it’s contempt directed at other supporters. I haven’t needed to take much notice of it but I couldn’t help myself yesterday. Not because of one more abusive and offensive contribution from Mr Home but because he’s now got a fawning imitator in Dees2014.

It’s interesting that you raise the schoolyard analogy. The scenario that struck me with the nonsensical post from 2014 that I replied to was of a too enthusiastic tyro running around the schoolyard after School Bully and pleading to be allowed to join his gang.

The idea of having to sift through a doubling in pointless and ignorant and unpleasant abuse was just too much for me. I apologise for providing another target but will get out of the way now.

P_Man - the anti-Neeld sentiment has gone beyond posters venting their frustration for a few days after a game to some individuals calling for the coaches head at every opportunity. The idea that supporters use team selection to support their argument to get rid of Neeld is ridiculous. This only serves to feed the media hysteria that builds pressure to sack another coach.

I'd rather we all close ranks, support the current team and coach, and let Peter Jackson do his job which will assess whether we need to change the coach. As supporters we are simply not close enough to know whether Neeld is doing a good job.

Interesting that it is only the anti-Neeld brigade that has a problem, belittling and demeaning, oh you poor dears, the players keep getting told to harden up, some posters could do with it as well, narcissistic, no, just bored to tears with the same old same old on every post, so try and liven it up a bit.....will always get bites.......if you think I take any of this seriously, sorry you are very mistaken

Check out the names I have been called.....oh no! Mr Moderator please stop them calling me names.....

I am quite willing and able to post about footy, but on this board at the moment it is quite pointless, as every thread/topic gets hijacked by the anti-Neeld brigade, it doesn't matter what the title is, there will be post after post saying 'sack him, sack them, sack everybody",

So therefore if you can't discuss footy without that happening, then you have a bit of fun with the said posters, simple really, note this is on topic

Leave it exactly how it is you hairy monkees and listen up.

- bad publicity is good publicity

- it will harden the f up both player to receptionist at MFC

- we will be dogged latter half of yr be assured as careers , & livelihoods

And players back will be on the line

- we are a laughing stock as it is, why make it worse

- who's going to do any better at this moment

Don't shoot the messenger DS or Neeld let's stick through these tough times

Supporters should harden the f up too and give & take it at games cos we are good at it

Tanking killed the spirit of the list, the players who played through those years i fear we have "lost" I will be amazed if many of them are with us in 2014.

The damage that CS' template caused is still unfolding.

The MFC is irrelevant to most people outside the supporter base, and who could blame them.

I remember the Bears of '87. They were a joke.

That is where we are right now.

Well it didn't kill Carlton, nor Richmond, nor Hawthorn nor GWS (why haven't they been investigated for tanking the Whitfield cup game last year??)

We are the only team stupid enough to put it on record, have an dis-unified club AND picked poorly and failed to develop players.

But none of that would really matter if we gave effort on the field. Our efforts are so poor (8 i50s in the first half last week?? Low tackling rates etc) that we are truly a laughing stock. We deserve it . Its indefensible.

The whole club has to take responsibility for the shambles we have become. at this point we have no hope and that is a killer. All we are getting now is pity and ridicule.

Can't say I blame 'em....

Which is a fair enough view to take, but it would seem, judging by this and other forums, many supporters have passed a breaking point. I fully admit, I'm one of them. By all means, attempt to reason with those who are at this stage if you feel that Neeld's staying on will better serve the club. But just flat out talking down to them achieves precisely nothing other than adding to what is an already tempestuous vibe around the place.

/I've seen enough of this team going backwards under the present regime to make a judgement that it isn't' working and needs to be changed. I'm fully entitled to that opinion and expressing it freely without copping crap from some uppity nuff nuff who thinks he knows better than everyone else cause he attends the odd training session.

I appreciate that many supporters have passed breaking point. If Peter Jackson's review finds we need a new coach than so be it, I just don't want the backlash from disappointed supporters to force the clubs hand in removing Neeld. I'd be really disappointed in a situation where Peter Jackson and the footy club believe Neeld is on the track but because of member backlash they are forced to replace him.
