Essendon bursts its bubble!

No credit for Moloney? Not exactly down hill skiing when you perform against the 2nd place side on their homeground...

I try not to think about how well Moloney is playing, it's too depressing that he isn't doing it for us

And the drugs have worn off............nnnnnnnnnnnnnnow!

The come down is harsh.

That was brilliant by the Lions, Essendon turned up as though they just expected to win, Lions would have none of that and hit them hard from the first bounce. Hurley subbed off concussed within 10 minutes, another player copped a big charge from behind, Brown slammed into someone. This is what I want from the Demons tomorrow, you don't have to be the most skilled side but if you hit them harder than they hit you you're always in with a chance.

Merrett ought to get suspended for his sling tackle on Hurley (edit: based on Trengove's suspension a few years back, anyway). Clarke ought to get suspended for his charge of Kavanagh.

This is similar to the reaction to Jetta's suspension a couple of weeks ago - some people view that as the type of aggression/intent we need to show, others view it as a 'cheap shot' and don't like it.

"Can't talk...Coming down"

Top effort by the Bears. I wonder if the MFC could play like that?

Do they want Neeld?

Brisbane obviously want Voss to continue, they were stiff last week.

Essendrug back in form.

Great.

15 disposals and not mentioned in the team bests on the AFL website is hardly "performing" Stuie. How many threads do you want to put this misinformation on? I've counted two so far. Get over it, you're turning into Rangey Mk 2 in that you think the more times you post something the more it will be true. Lol!

Yup, apologies there, I was following the stats online and added up the wrong columns. 15 touches, 7 tackles, and a goal still a pretty good game though.

Not quite enough though. Same thing he was guilty of with MFC.

What are you talking about? He was accused of not getting it enough in our loses and too much in our wins? They won today. Do the math.

It's exactly what he would have done at Melbourne. He continues to substantiate his down-hill ski work. Very, very, very rarely does he get it done against good opposition.

Every good game Beamer plays for the Lions is an indictment on both him and Mark Neeld.

Have to give credit to the Lions though, they did play well.

As a Bomber supporter we have been playing like this since the GWS game. Obviously against Geelong we didn't take our opportunies kicking 1.9 in the 3rd Q. If the GWS were more experienced and converted missed opportunies they might have beaten us. ATM we lack intensity at the start of the game and as others had pointed out we think we just need to turn up to win.

Michael Voss is safe atm and he hasn't lost the players at all. Don't forget they were good against the WCE and could have won that game as well. Voss may still get the arse if they decide to go in another direction at the end of the season.

If you think the Dees and Neeld are under pressure look at the Bulldogs they escape the media attention all the time.

Do you think the interviews have finally made his scandal really weigh on the playes minds?

    CROSSROADS by The Oracle

Melbourne stands at the crossroads.  Sunday’s game against the West Coast Eagles who have not met the Demons at the MCG in more than ten years, is a make or break for the club’s finals aspirations.  That proposition is self-evident since every other team the club will be opposed to over the next eight weeks of footy is a prospective 2024 finalist. To add to this perspective is the fact that while the Demons are now in twelfth position on the AFL table, they are only a game and a half b

    DELUGE by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons overcame their inaccuracy and the wet inhospitable conditions to overrun the lowly Northern Bullants at Genis Steel Oval in Cramer Street, Preston on Saturday. It was an eerie feeling entering the ground that in the past hosted many VFA/VFL greats of the past including the legendary Roy Cazaly. The cold and drizzly rain and the sparse crowd were enough to make one want to escape to the nearby Preston Market and hang out there for the afternoon. In the event, the fans

    INSANITY by Whispering Jack

Somehow, the Melbourne Football Club managed it twice in the course of a week. Coach Simon Goodwin admitted it in his press conference after the loss against the Brisbane Lions in a game where his team held a four goal lead in the third term:   "In reality we went a bit safe. Big occasion, a lot of young players playing. We probably just went into our shell a bit. "There's a bit to unpack in that last quarter … whether we go into our shells a bit late in the game."   Well

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi
