Potential club president candidates?

Recommended Posts

I believe the Dees are in need of a change of president, someone in possession of a lot more charisma and influence being my preference for the job. It's obvious the club president has an important role and is an essential part of a good team (Koch's takeover of port and their subsequent re-vitalization being an example of this).

So my question is, Who's an ideal club president? Matt Damon is apparently a dee's fan, as is Ana Ivanovich, could they be the right people for the job? (Since they'd definitely be interested in the position).

Let you into a secret, Redleg is the man for the job. He would get everyone working together and build an inclusive, successful, football club. He would also get rid of the carbon tax and make MFC memberships cheaper.

Well if you become President then Julia Gillard should be the CEO.

Redleg and the Redhead - another mentor/pupil situation and based on the way the country's running at the moment it sounds like a truly Melbournesque combination.

Sorry 'redleg' and 'Jack' but isn't Bob Hawke mister charisma, just what we need to get the factions together. Keating as CEO of the banana republic that is the MFC, get rid of the ridiculous KPI's at the FD and bring in the "J" curve and we're on our way. Will need a succession plan, Eddies has worked as well as Bob's and John's.

Politics of any kind, isn't it a wonderful thing.

A drovers dog could run this club.

We've got double digit failure, and double digit coach replacement.

Next President, Tim Wilson.

Robbie Flower by the length of the straight. However, If wishes were horses & he won't, can we at least have someone who's pleasant to look at.....no offence to Don. My candidate (for our first lady president) is Candice Swanepoel !!!

As you can see she's also a fully fledged Demon already.....

This whole replace the president, replace the CEO, replace the coach, replace the <insert target>, thing has become an absolute YAWN fest! All we see is countless repetition of the same arguments on both sides of the fence and the same agenda driven destabilisation proponents!

Mods, I beg you, please shut this thread down!

Ok, I'll nominate Range Rover and his minions for the board, just so that we can start a whole new raft of threads just like this, calling for their sacking and calling for nominations for their potential replacements.

My vote for club Prez is Barack Hussein Obama as he often likes to quote MLK's rathe famous line 'The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends towards justice'. After 6 of the most miserable seasons imaginable we sure know about the long, slow wait.

Maybe Neeldy should pull that one at the Presser this week? Could make for something different for the press to write about, and with Watts out they'll be struggling for a story.

It's time for Garry Lyon to step-up!!!! Seriously!!!

If 'what's his name' can do it for Norf, then Garry can do it for us. He has all the required attributes; football savvy, speaking ability, respect of the football public, connections, a well paid job outside of football and most importantly, BALLS.

If he doesn't step out of the shadows soon, like his mate Jim did when the club was in desperate need, I personally will be signing him off as a downhill skier for ever. (a great player and leader on the football field for the MFC.....but off it....hmmmm.)

Personally I feel he owes the MFC because he has 'talked-it-up' over the years but has baulked at every opportunity to coach or get permanently involved but still claims to know what we need.

When we need a new President, Garry should be it.

Go Dees

You can just avoid reading the thread.

I was waiting for that.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

We'll break down the Match SIM against North Melbourne and wrap up the preseason with insights into training and our latest recruits.
