Col Garland's opinion

Saw Col tonight at Coles and had quite a long chat to him.

He said that Dank is a crap stirrer and that he doesnt think any repercussions will be handed to Melbourne.

He told me although it's abit of a worry for supporters, dont read into it too much as we did nothing illegal.

Agree that there may well be nothing illegal about the drug issues per se.

The problem is the further erosion of trust in the Board by those who matter - the AFL and us.

Was he in the vitamins queue?

He was in the supplements (protein shakes isle)

hahaha.

But he was quite adamant that Melbourne were clean, although i know he cant give away much.. he seemed real genuine and honest.

shell shocked probably,,,

after all the bad press, & all the months of murmurings, & off field attacks from the Media, Caro, & the AFL... wouldn't you want to go to ground,,, if you knew you had done nothing wrong?

Although well be hammered by the media, stay strong.

Col seemed chilled about it, so lets be chilled.

Go dees on sunday.

He was pretty excited for the potential win on sunday.. you could see it in his eyes.

do you think there is any circumstance where he'd have said "I'm really worried cos I reckon a few blokes are right in the shitter"

wouldnt put too much store on Col's ability to determine whether we have anything to worry about from the AFL and even less store on the likelihood he'd blab even if he thought it likely they were going to crucify us

Clearly Dank no longer wants a career in sports science - why else would he suggest he gave supplements to players at a club that are unfortunately well behind the pace. Doesnt exactly support their efficacy.

Let this be a lesson. never ever send a text message to Dank. He has a habit of keeping them

I reckon there might be other clubs who have kept silent (or, like us, denied any link to him) that will be sweating an ocean at the moment.

If we are all clear we can put this rubbish behind us and focus on trying to perform where it counts, the field

Dank is just hitting out because he's being made a scapegoat for something that in reality involved a lot of people. He's refusing to let them sit it all on his head, and good on him for that.

The more Dank becomes 'untouchable' the more he can claim in his defamation proceedings. If he ain't gonna work in this town again then he is gonna take everyone out with him and his big bag of cash.

    UNBACKABLE by The Oracle

They’re billing the Brisbane Lions as a sleeping giant — the best team outside the top eight —and based on their form this month they’re a definite contender for September AFL action. Which is not exactly the best of news if you happen to be Melbourne, the visiting team this week up at the Gabba.  Even though they are placed ahead of their opponent on the AFL table, and they managed to stave off defeat in their last round victory over North Melbourne, this week’s visitors to the Sunshi

    WILDCARDS by KC from Casey

Casey’s season continued to drift into helplessness on Sunday when they lost another home game by a narrow margin, this time six points, in their Round 13 clash with North Melbourne’s VFL combination. The game was in stunning contrast to their last meeting at the same venue when Casey won the VFL Wildcard Match by 101 points. Back then, their standout players were Brodie Grundy and James Jordon who are starring in the AFL with ladder leaders, the Sydney Swans (it turned out to be their last

    LIFE SUPPORT by Whispering Jack

With Melbourne’s season hanging on a thread, Saturday night’s game against North Melbourne unfolded like a scene in a hospital emergency department.  The patient presented to the ward in a bad way. Doctors and nurses pumped life-saving medication into his body and, in the ensuing half hour, he responded with blood returning to his cheeks as he stirred back to life. After a slight relapse, the nurses pumped further medication into the bloodstream and the prognosis started looking good as the
