Ive been a Melbourne supporter all my Australian life. I cant see that ever changing short of the club folding and then id probably reduce footy to a very passing interest.

Ill probably even retain membership , though god knows why.

I was sorely tempted after last night to find a suitable box/chest and put everything Melbourne in it and put it away . I might still. Ive had a gutful. Last night was surreal . Sat with stepson (bomber) and watched a clinical disection. We laughed ,we joked but inside i was torn apart. How has it come to this. How ? Why ? No answers came forth.

I leave on Thursday for Kathmandu . I shall enjoy the trek. Ive trained hard.Ive dropped 8kg. I have given myself the best opportunity for success .

I thought the club had too. Its not working.

After Nepal ill convalescent in Dubai. Whilst experiencing the solitude of the desert sands I will attempt to ignore all things footy. This to enjoy the trip and to stay sane.

This club will do your head in...time and time again. I need space.

Good luck Dees

Good luck all

Hope an answer is found and way forward undertaken.

Im tired and need a break from this rubbish.

Ommmmmmmm !!!!!! :)

Enjoy Nepal BB. It will be the pefect tonic for all this rubbish.

I'm in, and truth be told, so is everyone on this website.

The reason we come on here, the reason we cry for sackings, the reason we whinge about beards, the reason we kick up a fuss about clash jumpers, is because we love this club.

With all the emotion, anger, disappointment, embarrassment, and frustration, a response of 'I'm done, no more for me' isn't exactly unreasonable. But in those people's hearts, they're not going anywhere, and deep down, they don't mean what they say (and yes, I'm aware that there will be people who say 'No, this time it's for real').

Eventually, whether it's next week, next year, or next decade, something good will happen to this club, and the lot of us will be the most chuffed supporters you've ever seen for sticking through hell.

For now, we're all still in.

I'm in.

Attention all Demons: Please do not panic, There is a fault in the system. Stay close.. Talk to no one. Listen to no one. Read only Demonland. Hand on tight. Help is on it's way.

the point of disagreement here for mine is you paint it as though this was all incidental and part of our success .

Problem is we have had NO success...not a skerrick !!

We suck. Not one of us deserves all of this perpetual pain of dissappoiintment.

Dont make it sound like a rite of passage in order to be a Dee . Its just what is...but its not right.

Huh? You've missed the point approximately 100%.

i'm in, being "out" wasn't even an option in my mind.

I'll never leave this club, we just need to fix the damn thing so i can start enjoying myself!

I learnt long ago, there was no tipping point for me.

Roost it, I'm chained to the seat.....and there's no key. If she's going down, I'm going with it.

After venting my spleen on the various forums since the Port Adelaide match and threatening to maybe hand in my membership, I have taken a deep breath and a step back, then after a little more consideration, have decided to stay with the club I have always loved.

No, I am not a happy member at the moment and No, I do not think the on and off field performances are any where near the required standard, but I feel that handing in my membership or abusing players etc., is NOT the answer for me at this point in time.

I think staying and continuing to support the club I love is the only path to continue following if I am to truly call myself a Dedicated , loyal member and supporter.

I have always stuck by the Dees through past adversities and although I feel the current situation is probably the worst I can remember, I will not turn my back on this club I have supported for over fifty years, My Father and Grandfather before me supported the MFC , albeit mostly in more successful times and I WANT to carry on the family legacy despite the hurt I am currently experiencing.

It would be so easy to turn my back on the terrible dilemna the MFC currently find itself in but I have NEVER been a person to "take the easy way out" and I am not going to start now.

I urge all those disgruntled and indeed ALL Dees Members to get behind the club, hold onto your memberships and try and weather this latest and possibly most difficult storm to hit our great club.

I have no idea how to fix the problem at this time as I suspect nobody else has, judging by the hundreds of various "suggestions" I have read on this site after the past two games, but I can only hope and pray that people more competent than I will get us back on track and very quickly.

We do NOT have a lot of time... Lets stop destructive criticism and start a positive campaign to repair the damage now.

GO DEES

The rumour was half the team has flu. I learnt that Mckenzie hadn't been well recently.

Way to marry them up with the revelation.

I feel sorry for my son. I encouraged him to support the Demons and I feel guilty that I have condemned him to the same purgatory that I have endured.

Cliches abound and as they say in the classics what doesnt kill you makes you stronger - from the hottest fires comes the strongest steel - when the going gets tough the tough get going and these are my principles and if you dont like them I have others.

I will keep being a member and I will go to the games that I can - what more can I do?

You're gunna be my number 1.

A bloke named Canute tried some tricky stuff with tides. Hope we're more successful than him.

Did they start shortening his name after that?

Would not have survived the merger.

This is a mere (further) patch of misery amongst many others over the decades.

Had a lot of fun supporting them over same period. Could only stop if they ceased

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
