GAMEDAY - ROUND 2

What

Recommended Posts

I feel really genuinely sorry for Jack Viney and Jimmy Toumpass being dragged into this moribund club....one that seriously appears to have no idea what is going on and where it is heading.

I actually paid up last week, in hope and expectation not of playing finals but at least of playing footy.....haven't seen it yet.

I kno its his 2nd game but damn its painful seeing Toumpas in 1 on 1 situations

Yeah, he's got no core, is slow, doesn't like the one percenters, but hey... it's his second game.

We got a bloke in Jack Watts who's been doing this for a few years.

Viney & Toumpas will lose all confidence in their playing ability with all those duds out there.

What was Mark Neeld thinking?

Why is Toumpas in the team? - he is not AFL ready

Why is Trengove in the team? - he is not at full fitness

Why is Gillies playing AFL? - he is a meat head!

Why is Nicholson playing? - he is not an AFL player

Why not give Jetta or Strauss a chance instead of Gilles and Terlich and Byrnes and Nicholson?

Why not upgrade Magner? - someone who actually cares

Sadly tomorrow morning I am going to wake up and realise that it wasn't a bad dream.

This is my first ever post. I have supported this great club for over 25 years now. I am a west Australian and flew over for the game last week.

I have been a Neeld backer but something has to change now. He is not up to it if he cannot get them up.

Time to go and time for some board members to go also. We need a real leader to step up.

First on the list for coaches - choco Williams.

The worst start to a season can remember from any team ever

Do you mean like how we have managed to turn the club around following 186??? :-(((((

Just when you thought it can't get any worse, it does. I'm just as flummoxed and bewildered as anyone else. I think we're all beyond having any answers.

What makes it even worse is that Essendon aren't even that good.

We'll recover, lord knows how, but we will. You never chuck in the towel.

How is it possible that we're worse than last year?

Because 1. our coach has no idea of game plan or people skills.

2. We have a nice but unintelligent CEO [which affects little things every day & it adds up]

3. It seems we have and have had so little serious footy nous at any level of the club, leading to:

4. Poor decisions re drafting, hiring coaches & everyone

5. People not realising that AFL is a very serious full time career now. [i was slaughtered by D'land posters when I suggested Martin needed to spend much time thinking about his footy, learning to play CHF & ruck, and less time with the girlfriend and the Law studies etc., ]

I suggested we trade Jamar while he was worth something & keep Martin as 1st ruck this year.

Have a nice day everyone :-)

453 to 262 disposals.....

Yes the (near) 200 difference in the disposal tally is an abosute indictment on our Club. I had to leave at 3/4 time as I felt sure that we were not ging to outscore them by 18 goals in the last quarter [and i was right]!

I have been a supporter of Neeld but tonights game was the same failed plan replayed, he cannot persist with this stupid Zoning, our players just cannot play it. We get cut to ribbons with some many opposition players running around loose. If he cannot change his game plan then he has to go. No point putting it off to the end of the year, the only good that can come out of continuing to pigheadedly play a bad game plan is we get a better draft pick for picking up the wooden spoon and lots more severe beatings. In fact the AFL may need to introduce a mercy clause into the playing conditions, like they have in baseball and other games when sides get slaughtered

Biggest loss ever by Melbourne at the MCG.

But the bright side is Essendon recorded their biggest ever win!

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had

    CENTIMETRES by Whispering Jack

Our game is one where the result is often decided by centimetres; the touch of a fingernail, a split-second decision made by a player or official, the angle of vision or the random movement of an oblong ball in flight or in its bounce and trajectory. There is one habit that Melbourne seems to have developed of late in its games against Carlton which is that the Demons keep finding themselves on the wrong end of the stick in terms of the fine line in close games at times when centimetres mak
