I have backed Dan Nicholson to many times to count on my hands

But that marking attempt in the 1st qtr when he chose to double fist instead of taking a mark and copping the contact was absolutely gutless and set the tone for the day. It was one of the worst things I seen all day.

Along with Sellar who dropped that easy chest mark in the forward line that qtr.

Sellar never looked like taking a mark all day, he is a big tree trunk who can't move can't kick can't mark,

Good Bye both players

Thanks

sellar = poor mans brad miller.

Pederson = one highlight but as lazy as Newton

stats say it all:

Frawley 2 contested possessions

gillies 3 contested possessions no tackles

nicholson 2 contested possessions

sellar 1 contested possession

tapscott 2 contested possessions

toumpas 1 contested possession

watts 2 contested possessions 1 tackle.

woeful performance, though would give toumpas the benefit of the doubt being his first game, the others should be capable of doing better.

Actually, the whole team is to blame-why single out individuals.

THERE IS NO TALK ON THE FIELD.

The players dont know where to pass, tap, run , jump tackle, chase, shepherd or bump-they never talk.Ever.

They just get bullied.

Nicholson may have good endurance, but he cantplay footy

Sellar is tall, but soft as butter.

Both not AFL players. Why someone listened to Neil Craig in the first place and put Seller on the list is beyond me.

Tapscott is also not an AFL player. Another Barry P special.

He's been kissed on the doodle Barry P, getting a oppo job at Carlton after bringing so many non-competeive hacks into the MFC.....Well Done Baz you will be remembered!!

Is this because they seem to lack any belief & confidence in each other? Devoid of winning for so long maybe. Confidence totally shot. Also the other gaping hole is leadership and not a single star to lift the moral and standard of skills/finish.

Too many basic things just don't happen, like someone staying off the contested mark (and contested/congested packs where there's already enough of our players contesting), front and square in our forward line. Without wanting to single anyone out ...McKenzie at one point in forward pocket, marking contest at Punt Road end, rushes towards contest instead of sitting off a little to see where the ball falls, Port player gets it instead and they transition quickly out of defence....golden goal opportunity missed. Many more examples if i was willing to suffer through a replay.

Dumb, dumb and dumber!

Nicholson (not for the first time), Pederson and Sellar all shirked it today. We cannot have these sorts of blokes in the side, let alone on our list. If we are fair dinkum these blokes would be outed by their team mates for their efforts and they aren't the only players scared of a hard contest.

Nicholson needs to go, Seller looks like a tard up forward and Tapscott well bloody hell ive defended this bloke because he has had his injuries but enough is enough, time to go mate.

Why did Nicholson get a game ahead of Jetta?

I have a lot of time for Jetta. He may not be as quick as Nicho, but he is tough and a much better user of the ball.

Sellar is the worst decoy going around. FFS we spend so much energy trying to get spuds in to help Clark, yet he is still two out in the square injuring himself. I know Dawes is injured, but WTF is Pederson doing?! He has no idea.

Monfries was great for Port today. Why didn't we get him instead of bringing in D grade spuds or players on their last legs from other clubs?

I want to face palm this club.

cant understand why people are raggin' on sellar. i mean he was a backman and then we moved him forward for the NAB cup and he kicked some goals so he's a gun forward yeah? like a reverse Ben Holland?

I'd go the full blooded slap myself.

I was actually debating with someone on how Byrnes would be a better pick up for us than Monfries would be for Port.

Wow.

Because the man CANNOT TAKE A MARK.

At least Ben Holland had dukes and knew how to use them.

I miss the days when Holland was my biggest issue with this team. Bring him back.

Dawes was brought to the club to be the second forward. Sellar wasn't. When Dawes plays, Sellar/Pederson don't get second defenders, they get third. It's going to make a difference.

Of course, that doesn't stop Pederson from being soft.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session. Lever was also on restricted duties and appeared to be in runners.  The main group was doing end-to-end transition work in a simulated match situation. Ball mov

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. Windsor's run won't be lost playing off half back. In 19 games in 2024 he kicked 8 goals as a winger. I see him getting shots at g

BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
