Remember this little fellow? He cut Casey to peices today. MFC let him go in a heart beat (To slow to small). We kept a pea heart (#10) for way to long. I reckon he would have given way more to the mfcguernsey than CM ever did.

Have to agree with that, we dropped him, never to play again, after he played his best game for us and was probably close to bog.

Such a great player that no one else has picked him up. And CM has been. You must be the only bloke to not know why.

Am I the only one who doesn't know who he is?

Is it Shane Valenti? If so, I would have to agree. He kicked 3 goals against the Cats on Olympic Opening Ceremony Night in 2008, and then was promptly delisted. WTF Dean Bailey?

I don't recall him ever snagging three, but I remember the game we pumped Freo and he was great. In fact I think he finished the year off well and then that was it.

Don't quote me for accuracy but I think thats how it went.

Got 2 Brownlow votes. (It is Valenti we are talking about?)

BUT lets not go over this again. Just do a search for him and you'll find massive discussion about him. I and plenty of others rated him highly, plenty here didn't. So be it. Done now.

No big loss in comparison to the bloke we let go at the end of last year - who appears to be once again dominating at AFL level in Moloney.

For the record, I was all for us letting Moloney go and not pursuing Valenti any further than we did.

We probably had more of a need for Valenti at the time, than we do for Moloney this year.

As good as Moloney might look at Brisbane, he gets a lot of clearances and just hacks it on the boot with no direction going forward.

Again this thread uses the logic of retention of a marginal player to justify the retention of another marginal player. Use the good players as the benchmark, not the crap ones.

I too was bewilded in why he was cut.. His second last game for the club he gatherd 30 disposals and kicked a goal. and that was it for him. Would rather him then couch.

Yet another case of Mad Memory Syndrome: Valenti never kicked three in a match, nor was he promptly delisted after the 2008 Olympics opening ceremony. (Just as Adem Yze did not play a blinder in his first game.)

I take it back then, although I still think Dean Bailey was a coaching moron.

EDIT: Turns out he kicked 2 goals in that round 18 game in 2008 and was kept on for another year.

agree, but he lacked the weapons maybe to go forward?

However it would be interesting to see just how Misson could effect his game style, either around the middle or down back.

... ticker isn't an issue with shano.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to
