and happy birthday Jetta. 22 today.

The next Rioli on our finger tips? Lets hope so, looks like he has put on a bit this pre-season.

Geez, that might be pushing it a little.

He has great sideways movement Jetta but probably not as good as Rioli's, and nowhere near the straight line speed or skills of Cyril.

so od, will NJ become your new JB?

No dc but I have a couple I will be keeping my eye on

But to be fair I am giving them the benefit of the doubt for a couple of months yet.

Who are you looking forwarded to watching?

This is DL where every player is a potential superstar!

These are not the ones I am watching but I agree I am really keen to see Flash back and Sylvia

If those two had good seasons it will improve us out of site.

But in the NAB as I said earlier I want to see how the recruits of 2012 who where out injured for most of the 2012 season perform.

It is not the end of the world for me hardtack.

I would just prefer he did not play.

The kid wants to play, who are we to argue, hes uprooted his life to come to Melbourne, give him a taste.

I dispute that. I'd say he's got Rioli more than covered for speed. If you watched the GF carefully, you'd see Jetta sprinting down the southern wing (can't remember the quarter, but it was towards the Punt Rd end - either first or third) with the ball for a good distance, pursued by Rioli. Rioli made no ground at all, despite Jetta's bouncing the ball, and gave up the chase. He looked embarrassed as he turned back towards the centre of the ground.

Taking about, Nev.

Was looking forward to going along next Friday to watch some actual footy - but $22 for GA (3rd level?) with no free access for club members for a couple of Mickey Mouse half-games? The AFL and Docklands can get f*****.

Television Dr!

For once H_T I hope you are wrong

How old was Robert Flower when he played his first senior game? Answer 17. Old Dee you must remember that day. Or was that you that kept screaming don't play him. Would Flower get a game with us if you had your way Old Dee? Robert Flower was pound for pound one of the strongest players running around in his day.

As for Jesse Hogan, he has done a full pre-season and you say do not play him. Do you want to break him before he even gets going. He needs to play in the NAB Cup to give him the taste of senior footy of sorts. By giving him some time will give him the incentive to do his best with Casey knowing what it is like to play AFL footy. Old Dee it is called the Carrot at the End of the Stick Principle. Plus for god sake the kid is more than big enough to look after himself and he knows how to move around the ground.

If is about time we show some mongrel at Melbourne and be pro-active and that includes the members and supporters.

I am really hoping Jesse gets a run on 22nd, can't wait to see if any of the so called tough Nth Melb defenders have a go,

Had a chat to him about playing VFL and told him he would have 'head' hunters he just smirked and said he was looking fwd to it,

Think it is really good coaching to have Spencer banging into him, he more than held his own

It is only my opinion not the end of the world.

No I do not remember RF's first game.

That is exactly why I would prefer he did not play.

However can we get over JH there are another 40 players running around on Friday week.

Any interest in any of them?

That's all good as long as he wasn't thinking of "headhunters" in terms of potential employers seeking his services ;-)

    THE BLOW by Whispering Jack

Narrm’s finals prospects took a crushing blow after the team’s insipid performance at Optus Stadium against a confident Waaljit Marawar in the first of its Doug Nicholls Round outings for 2024.  I use the description “crushing blow” advisedly because, although the season is not yet at it’s halfway mark, the Demons have now failed abysmally in two of their games against teams currently occupying bottom eight places on the ladder.  The manner in which these losing games were played out w

HALF FULL by KC from Casey

It was a case of the Casey Demons going into a game with a glass half full in their match up against the Brisbane Lions at Casey Fields on Saturday. As the list of injured and unavailable AFL and VFL listed players continues to grow and with Melbourne taking all three emergencies to Perth for the weekend on a “just in case” basis, its little brother was always destined to struggle. Casey was left with only eight AFL listed players from who to select their team but only two - an out-of-form

GAMEDAY: Rd 10 vs West Coast

It's Game Day and the Demons have returned to the site of their drought breaking Premiership to take on the West Coast Eagles in what could very well be a danger game for Narrm at Optus Stadium. A win and a percentage boost will keep the Dees in top four contention whilst a loss will cast doubt on the Dees flag credentials and bring them back to the pack fighting for a spot in the 8 as we fast approach the halfway point of the season.

    WARNING by William from Waalitj

As a long term resident of Waalitj Marawar, I am moved to warn my fellow Narrm fans that a  danger game awaits. The locals are no longer the easybeats who stumbled, fumbled and bumbled their way to the good fortune of gathering the number one draft pick and a generational player in Harley Reid last year. They are definitely better than they were then.   Young Harley has already proven his worth with some stellar performances for a first year kid playing among men. He’s taken hangers, k

OVER YET? by KC from Casey

The Friday evening rush hour clash of two of the VFL’s 2024 minnows, Carlton and the Casey Demons was excruciatingly painful to watch, even if it was for the most part a close encounter. I suppose that since the game had to produce a result (a tie would have done the game some justice), the four points that went to Casey with the win, were fully justified because they went to the best team. In that respect, my opinion is based on the fact that the Blues were a lopsided combination that had
