no, I don't agree, IMO the AFL Commission realise there is a lot of lost integrity out there in the footy public's minds, & I think this was meant to satisfy the public. But they expected us to fold over.

The fight we are showing is causing the AFL Commission headaches & now its heading into the preseason scheduling,,, & the AFL Commission are red faced yet again.

When will the AFL Commission learn to stop manipulating things from within they're cone of silence & treating the public as they're play things?

Whilst I dont consider Vlad a fool I also dont particularly consider him Einsteinian. For was he to be such he wouldnt have pizzed off o/s on his littel junket. He might have sensed the main-chancer in AA and put a lid on all this. As others ( WYL ..and some other staunch advocates ) suggest could not this have still been diluted if not shunted sideways by some judicious overseeing even after AA let the horse bolt ? But it wasnt.

So has this occurred though a lapse in intuition ? Did Vlad espy a possible easy target and think he can get a soft win and appease the trolls ?

If this is the case he's made a grave error. Timing couldnt be worse for anyone to attack the MFC. We are finding our feet and with that our voice. We've galvanised in adversity and dared to regain our previous right in this competition. Does Demetriou seriously think we're about to roll over NOW ??

Im still ( for the moment) going to continue believing hes not so foolish , that he will theatrically take this to its brink and then with a view to Detente broker a win/win outcome with no foul or sanctions.

Does he risk losing control of the farce to the courts ? Does he risk his own tenure should he bog the league in a tar pit of litigation ?

Is there anything really to gain by penalising us ? or can he prove sage and fashion a path to a position where the whole issue of tanking can be put to rest , now and forever.

This might be about Tanking but make no mistake the AFL is standing in the middle of a Mine-field and they made it !!

more & more the front people are puppets of those who run the show from behind the curtain. the puppeteers.

the puppet up front is well paid for wearing the flak, but has to be well spoken, personable & quick witted.

So imo there is a front man puppet, & he has his sidekick sergeant on the shop floor.

The front man puppet is told buy the collective puppeteers how things will be done, & he enjoys the well payed position, until his position is no longer tenable. he leaves taking all the collateral Flak he's worn with him.

I would have thought if anything, it might relate to any disciplinary action they might be taking against the Boxing Day Test transgressors.

Making a bold statement in a conference about how that sort of behaviour is not part of the new MFC might be the plan, but seems a bit unnecessary, especially as it seems there was not much to it.

Well, as you rightly pointed out, it may be a bit over the top to hold a presser for the Boxing Day thing... so perhaps it could be a general "what's going on at the club" meet the press type of thing that is designed to dilute/divert some of the nastier reporting of late; or it might even be a leadership group announcement... who knows.

I would be very surprised though if it relates to the tanking issue...the club's stance has been pretty well covered lately and there can be nothing new to announce with regards to that until the end of the month.

Other than employing orthodox late-in-the-season tactics of sides unable to make the 8 e.g. radical positional experimentation what are we actually accused of ? We have categorical PROOF that we didn't LITERALLY tank with the unedited footage of the last 5 minutes of the "Jordan McMahon" game . Tie Vlad to a chair with matchsticks between his eyelids and force him to watch our stirring but unrewarded comeback.

Melb Vs St Kilda.......Why Frawley was moved off Roo and Dunn put on him when Frawley was on top....Why was Jurrah taken from the ground after kicking 3 goals and not come on again....There were a couple of others but I've forgotten....Old age I suppose

I guess it will come to a stage where the coach must get AFL approval to make any moves that are not considered "normal"

then the media will have to approve the moves as well or all teams will be investigated......What a world...What a world.

Ch 7 has just 'exclusively' announced that the investigators have targetted 3 matches.

1. The match against Port (round 15? 2009). CS was apparently observed 'rebuking' players for winning the match.

2. The McMahon match. Strange player positionings (Frawley going down to the forward line) and odd match-ups (Johnson on Nathan Brown). Also the low number of rotations.

3. The St Kilda match - round 22. A focus on why Chris Connolly was on the bench as football manager during the game; why was Frawley taken off Reiwoldt and replaced with Dunn, and why was Liam Jurrah taken off after he kicked 3 goals.

I can't remember it all...but that was the gyst of it.

Oh and no charges or allegations against Jimmy.

At the end of the day, Bailey should be able to come up with any 1/2 justifiable excuse and clear his name, even if its dubious, who is to say he is right or wrong? If the AFL start to scrutinise a coaches every move, then i'll give up following the comp, and watch the WAFL
