With Anderson gone as of tonight I am going right out on a limb.

We will get a decision next week, my prediction Friday evening 21st December 2012.

What do you think guys?

I've been thinking it will be closed down while the media are in holiday mode but then again the AFL might like to interrupt the tennis and this story whichever way it goes will command some news space.

If they want it to go away it will be sometime over the next week.

If they want headlines it will be during the tennis.

If I may offer an idea, I believe the actual inquisition , well the inquiry aspect is over.

I think its now moved to consolidation and the residual reporting to the powers that be.

From there deliberation will commence where upon a decision will be made as to which drawer it will sit it for , oooh at least a month id say before quietly announcing the findings during reruns of Macgyver or Knightrider in early Feb .

That or it will just sit in that drawer in the hope no one actually remembers it !!!!

Probably after the tests are finished,,, & inbetween the one dayers or 20/20 games, where any one watching TV or radio can't remember anything for longer than 20 mins'.

I was interested in this paragraph "Anderson's pre-Christmas departure confirms he won't see the controversial Melbourne tanking investigation through to its conclusion.'"

Seems it is no longer a "cut and dried'' event. Are some elements of the media seeing this as a witch hunt too?

No coincidence that he's leaving without seeing it through. He dug the AFL into a huge hole - and they couldn't start climbing out of it while he was around.

Fairly obvious headline missed here I would have thought......

Not sure on your headline but I reckon Misfud and Wilson could be in a bit of trouble.

I hate to say it but Mifsud falls into the same group as ALS and other idigenous freeloaders who take government handouts heading corporations for their people but providing nothing in return. He is a bollicks and the two years of no contact with a troubled kid like Garlett highlights his inadequadacies with his job. Michael Long, Andy Mcleod time to step up you have the heart for your people and the game and not just in it for a pay cheque

I think that is a broad brush you are painting Mifsud and all "freeloaders" PSD. Not knowing the roles and the remit of the Mifsud's, the Long's and the McLeod's in detail, the resourcing or what seems to be the lack of resourcing they have behind them makes your statement a little puerile.

How a player like Garlett can slip through the "welfare" cracks across the entire footy industry as a whole not just Indigenous welfare is the question that needs to be asked. I'm sure his junior club, his senior WAFL club, his WA team and who knows what other footy related services he has been around have tried to provide assitance to him. If not then there are issues within WA footy. From seeing the tweets I doubt anyone could get through to him at this stage.

There needs to be more ownership across all levels of the AFL sphere not just focussing on one employee or role. Clubs, Player managers, the AFL, Coaches Association etc etc. In saying that if Mifsud is under resourced or the role needs to be expanded then he needs to be yelling the loudest to his bosses.

"Demon's have tanked again"

Someone better not tell Caro, this would be all the evidence she needs.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
