It looks like we won't be participating in the PSD unless we delist someone but that's unlikely as all players are now contracted.

The rookie draft gives us two more picks with the first of these coming in at #3.

That leads us to the question of who's available or who wasn't picked tonight?

I didn't hear Sam Colquhoun of Central District, SA being called out.

Surprise to me as he was a prolific ball winner during the under 18 champs. I wonder if there's a story behind that?

A few other names missing as well, some because of question marks about their conduct.

Dayle Garlett overlooked. Potential top 20 draftee.

Bad behavior off field has prevented him from being selected

Yes, isn't that amazing.

PSD possibility?

Would we pull the trigger in the RD?

Matthew Haynes - elite speed, was a projected top 20 pick last year, AIS program. Didn't have a great year in the TAC but would be worth a rookie.

Wouldn't touch him, last thing we need is more bad publicity if he nicks up.

Jurrah leaving the way he did probably making us steer away even more I think.

Clearly misses on one of Toddy's KPIs - character.

I would take a punt on Garlett.

Read him the riot act with Neeld giving him the thousand mile death stare.

Could pay huge dividends.

We haven't had the senior group to help a kid like that but talent is talent.

Maybe we aren't ready to take on a project like that just yet...

Now this is a guy worth a punt!

Yes from me, didn't have a great year but has a huge upside. With the senior bodies we have now we could afford to take him on. As he is a Carey boy the Viney's will know if he has the right attributes.

Garlett

he is with the punt for sure

Like demon said get Neeld to give it to him straight if he stuffs up he's out the door and I'm pretty sure if he was saying it to me I would be on the straight and narrow trying to repay him for his faith

Lol I wonder if that was what Voss thought when he recruited Fev!

Garlett's talent is so seductive but I couldn't stand another season of off field stuff we have had to put up with this year. Bring on 2013.

Andrew Boston

Leigh Osborne

Shannon Taylor

Boston could be good as a longer term small forward. Bit of time in Casey as understudy to Byrne's / Rodan. Knows where the goals are.

I would not loose any sleep if we had the chance, passed and he went on to make it somewhere else. We just cannot afford a bloke with the ability to stuff up with crap still hanging over us.

Many good ones still available IMO ...

SA : Colquohoun, Vfl - Osborne , Vic TAC: Pongracic , Hams, Mansfield, Haynes , Ballard WAFL: Nelson, Warrell , Lowrie , Wilkins .

Qld : Boston.

For me, Sam Colquohoun has Elite skills and class, and Jacob Ballard is a ballwinner with a mature build. These guys are unlucky not to get drafted and are "good" rookie options. Plenty of good players have come through as rookie. They take the disappointment and drive harder.

Tipgunwuti ?...

Based on the brief set of highlights, I would like to see him rookied,

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
