I can just imagine Caroline Wilson reporting "Nobody expects the Spanish Inquisition"

that article imo sounds like carro is puling back on her tanking stance

mabee said investigators are sniffing elsewhere now.....

I think the AFL have pulled back their guard dog, as they may be worried just a bit that this could get out of their control, & spread like a brush fire in February.

The good thing about Finkelstein - apart from his impeccable legal credentials - is that he already hates the media!

And has, quite possibly, the greatest name... in the world

Sorry Olisik, I shouldn't have said 'motives'. I meant 'negativity' which I recall people mentioning. Apologies if I got that wrong too.

It seems to me that CW is either making this up, or getting fed by the AFL investigation or people close to it. I may be late to the party in recognising this - but I just can't believe any organisation would leak like that (other than major political parties and their spivs).

It's beyond belief if, in fact, the AFL is leaking.

IMO the same people that are supplying the AFL with ( greatly embellished) information are also feeding the information on to her

My friend is his colleague and he says that if the AFL hit us hard they better be prepared for the new bumhole they will have torn for them. Seemingly this bloke takes no prisoners. Happy days.

He is very impressive from this reading ... Judge who set the pace for the law

Has a cavalier bit of mongrel in him, too. I liked this bit ... "There is a blazing streak of defiance about Finkelstein ... of his student years he says, "I was rebellious, I was regarded as the worst kid in the school." ''I hated being told what to do. I hated authority.''

AFL take note.

Having Finkelstein means our Christmas will come early!

My logic:

• AFL has no concrete evidence that will stand up in court.

• The next AFL Commission meeting is in mid-Dec where they will hand down their findings...AFL won't want it to go into 2013.

• Mid Dec is a perfect time to announce no sufficient evidence - no one will care what CW writes, KB says - all out celebrating. AFL will be relying on this to minimize airplay.

Then we can happily get on with our own Xmas merriment and enjoy the Xmas turkey...

...ah turkey: that is both the edible kind and the turkey image the AFL will have tainted itself with!

Today's news is the best news in 2012 as far as I am concerned.

Finally an MFC that stands and fights for its position.

Perhaps we do have a place in the 21st Century.

Thank God and pass the ammunition!

How bloody good does it feel to "Push Back!!"

For those who don't know Ray, he is the size of Paul Callery with an intellect the size of Aaron Sandilands.

What's his playing number? Where did he go in the draft?

What's his playing number? Where did he go in the draft?

Number 1 based on his IQ and draft number 126 as he was so small.

This is different to Lance Armstrong .There is proof and testimony that he systematically doped.

All we have is a witch hunt looking for issues that dont exist , in a flawed system .

It's funny that the AFL has chosen an expert in human trafficking as their tough guy.(For what is the draft but a supermarket of boys )

Barry Prendegast can at least claim total and utter ignorance , insanity, and stupidity in his case .

hahahahhhahaa you are so right It wasnt tanking it was just good old Melbourne underforming as usual with a good mix of poor strategy and even poorer execution

Thats a better qualification that comparing him to big Aaron.

Anyway I still think we should have rookied him rather than blow pick 126. What was Prendergast thinking?

I want to see this thing go to trial just so's we can see Finkelstein call Prendergast to the stand. Wouldn't that be something.

I'm loving how demonland have a new hero (with nary a word against him!). I'm also loving how all of a sudden we are taking CW's word for something, ie that we have engaged him. Who's her source i ask ya (seriously though i reckon the club has told her bossed who we have engaged)

The Finkmeister - just the mention of his name puts fear in the heart of AFL administrators and news editors!

I want to see the dees run through a Finkmeister banner round 1 next year.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
