Maybe he'll get some of that 'Shin-boner' sprit and become a really good player.

Gysberts will be a very good player. I don't think we should be too cocky about letting him go just yet.

That said, I'm really happy we landed Pederson.

Any reports on Barry? Don't think i've seen him mentioned yet.

Good point. i didn't see anyone who looked like him. Anyone else at training notice him, or is he tucked away for exams?

Were they drunk or was it that muppet on BF 'daw of preejectulation' or whatever his name is. I go on there every so often to see whats occurring, it takes me two minutes before I have had a gutful of the place.

No, I made it up. Because it's precisely the mentality here, if we were in the same boat. A positive outlook no matter what.

I run the Tan quite regularly (when not injured as I am currently).

The tan is 3.8kms and has a steep incline of about 800m up Andersons St, it also has a lot of little inclines and declines around the track that really test the muscles. The only enjoyable part about it is that there's a slight decent for about 800m of the last 1km which means you can really get up a good speed to sprint across the line.

thats a nasty bloody hill that one..lol

anyhow...for the benefit of others

"Hurry up and put the weights on it! Can't... hold... much... longer..."

The sad (or funny) things is, there is only 5kgs of weight on the machine.

Taggert is around 7cm taller than Tappy, hasn't fully grown into his body yet.

there would be no dount that Mouse would have asked Neeld his opinion. Up to Mouse then.

I dont really think there is any 'side" to Neeld . Hes just very matter of fact and focussed. I would think hed be only to happy to help a decent bloke further his career. Why wouldn tyou ? :)

I'll help you get andy job you want, just don't play here.

Forget the size, just tells me how much this type of player gets the ball and what he does with it.

AFL team full of VFL players

Don't follow you? Please explain.

AFL team full of VFL players

The VFL is an ok standard at least we are not full of QAFL players...

Will that make Neeld twice as good of a coach if we start winning games???

Any updates on Bartram's knee?

I was also wondering about Bartram? Anyone know if he Macdonald and Dunn have signed on yet? Potentially nothing will be finalised until after the national draft?

BH, did you get to training yesterday? Would love to hear what you thought if you did.

Yes, I was there, but there's nothing really to add to what has been reported.

Although I'll confess my love for Mitch Clark. Not only is he a striking 200 cm figure, he looks like a real leader. As others have noted he takes a real interest in training drills even if he's just observing. Clark has the size, agility, marking prowess, pace, presence, etc to become one of the AFL's top 10 players. When you think that Cox didn't hit his straps til his mid 20's there's so much more for Clark to give. I have no doubt he could be the best ruckman in the league, but having him spend 70% forward is a luxury I can live with.

I was surprised how vocal Rodan already is. He was encouraging the boys to keep their skills up in the windy conditions while they were stretching on the fence-line. I've never seen Davey do that in 10 years. Yet people like Sheahan, a supposed expert, wanted to make him captain a few years ago. It beggars belief.

Taggert kicks and moves well. He's a nice size, but needs to develop his upper body, which won't be difficult. But I've never seen him play, so take it with a grain of salt.

I watched Viney's kicking really closely. Over longer distances it's so so, but his passing from 15-35/40 metres is pinpoint, low and laser like. Much like that pass to Daniher in the championships. Forwards will love being on the end of his passing. A good initial turn of foot too. Good pace.

Watts' physique hasn't changed one iota, but it's very early in the preseason and some clubs haven't even started back yet. I see Watts' down back for the foreseeable future and I don't see him in a key defensive post, but more the 'plus 1' intercept role and highly skilled distributor. He doesn't need much more bulk for that. I would like more meat on him because it will give him confidence to compete better, especially in the air, but it's not there yet.

Happy to answer any queries, as I'm sure others are.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
