Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

A bigger Rory Taggert

Sometimes photos lie, I know.

But have a look at the photos of the early trainers at today's training session.

Rory is meant to be 187cm and Aaron 177cm by current player stats.

The photo of Jetta, Davey & Taggert taken from the rear he certainly looks more than 10cm taller than Davey.

He has obviously spent a bit of time in the gym as well with his back problems.

He is looking pretty good :)

Good to see, he looked really strong through the core and lower body in his games at Casey but not so strong in the upper body. He looks to have filled out a bit during his rehab, must be working hard which is a good sign.

Really looking forward to seeing this kid develop.

I was really surprised by the photos on th MFC website - Taggart looks so much stronger. He definitely has the skill, pace and endeavour. If he also produces hard work on the training track then I agree with DemonWA, I reckon he will be like an extra draft pick this year.

I know its not the case, but in my eyes Taggert is almost like a free draft pick this year. I reckon he'll show a fair bit this season

No chance! He's a Prendergast selection isn't he?. (lol).

Also great to see Aaron Davey out there obviously keen to get started and looking relaxed and composed. Here's hoping we can see once again the spark that he showed in his first years at the club.

Maybe Davey shrank. It's meant to happen as you get older.

I think by the time Taggert was drafted, BP was effectively a figure head in that role and the coaching group would've had more influence.

I am saying this based on no evidence whatsoever ither than the fact he was given the arse not long after.

I know a fair bit about Taggert. He has most certainly got bigger but was always quite a big mid, I was shocked by his size at Casey last year - looked like he had lost weight since joining the AFL.

The guy isn't fast but has great breakaway pace which I believe is something we are really lacking ... Hence why I am shattered we won't be able to draft Toumpas.

Agree with the sentiments of a few above, Taggert is like an extra draft pick going into next year, I am expecting him to make an earlyish debut.

Did anyone attend the training session today? from the photo's only seemed like trengove, taggart, davey and jetta were there?

Wasn't training... Training doesn't start until the 29th I believe.

These are just photos of a couple of the guys who have come down a bit earlier to get a feel for it.

0/2 there. Prendergast was still in charge of drafting and should take the rub good or bad for outcomes. God knows how many posters whinged about BBBP for recruiting a player with a bad back.

Unless of course you actually dig up the "facts".

Prendergast actually resigned in Jan 2012.

More importantly i hope Taggart is over his back complaint.

He is fast then....

Speed over 0-15 metres is the critical speed required in AFL.

I hope he can maintain it for a whole game.

So great acceleration but not so much on top speed? I can live with that. It will help him get a quick few meters of space so he can get the ball away.

Kind of makes me think the opposite of Paul Wheatley who had great speed but took time to get going. We rarely saw it but he made one of the all time great chase down tackles in the middle of the ground once.

Paint it however you like.

BP did not fit into the new regime - he knew it and so did the average punter. If Bailey was still at the helm BP would still be there and not at Carlton "pursuing a coaching career."

Your linked article is factual in sense of an outcome only.

    MELBOURNE BUSINESS by The Oracle

In days of old, this week’s Thursday night AFL match up between the Demons and the Blues would be framed on the basis of the need to redress the fact that Carlton “stole” last year’s semi final away from Melbourne and with it, their hopes for the premiership.  A hot gospelling coach might point out to his charges that they were the better team on the night in all facets and that poor kicking for goal and a couple of lapses at the death cost them what was rightfully theirs. Moreover, now was

UNDER THE PUMP by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have been left languishing near the bottom of the VFL table after suffering a 32-point defeat at the hands of stand alone club Williamstown at Casey Fields on Sunday. The Demons suffered a major setback before the game even started when AFL listed players Ben Brown, Marty Hore and Josh Schache were withdrawn from the selected side. Only Schache was confirmed as an injury replacement, the other two held over as possible injury replacements for Melbourne’s Thursday night fixt

THE MEANING OF FOOTY by Whispering Jack

Throughout history various philosophers have grappled with the meaning of life. Aristotle, Aquinas, Kant, Nietzsche, Schopenhauer and a multitude of authors of diverse religious texts all tried. As society became more complex, the question became attached to specific endeavours in life even including sporting pursuits where such questions arose among our game’s commentariat as, “what is the meaning of football”? Melbourne coach Simon Goodwin must be tired of dealing with such a dilemma but,

LEADERS OF THE PACK by The Oracle

I was asked to write a preview of this week’s Round 8 match between Melbourne and Geelong. The two clubs have a history that goes right back to the time when the game was starting to become an organised sport but it’s the present that makes the task of previewing this contest so interesting. Both clubs recently reached the pinnacle of the competition winning premiership flags in 2021 and 2022 respectively, but before the start of this season, many good judges felt their time had passed - n
