Not much of an appetite for hard work Aussie.

Spent the whole time at Melbourne above his ideal playing weight. Came back from each of his end of season break in poor condition.

A talented player, who walked out on us. Would I take his lazy oversized butt back?

No.

I'm pretty sure he said in a recent interview he didn't want to come back.

He has left a big hole in the forward line as the small forward (pun intended).

Yeah I think it was an interview with Josh Mahoney a month or two ago, should be on the MFC site somewhere. Said something like that he didn't miss training, wasn't interested in playing, something like that.

He was in Melbourne at the time for some sort of mentoring/school thing.

I saw him play against the Brisbane Lions Reserves team in the NEAFL final a few weeks ago. He kicked two goals in two minutes late in the second term to bring the Thunder within a few goals at half time but did very little else for the rest of the game. Looked fitter than I expected but still some way off AFL standard. I don't think he wants it.

He comes from the same school on fitness as Brendan Fevola and I.

He's had a tough time and AFL isn't for everyone. If he wants to make it back then I say he should return to the VFL/SANFL/WAFL and we keep an eye on him, but I don't think he does.

    Fremantle hosted the Demons on a sunny 20-degree Saturdayafternoon winning the toss and electing to defend in the first quarter against the 3-goal breeze favouring the Parry Street end. There was method here, as this would give the comeback queens, the Dockers, last use of the breeze. The Melbourne Coach had promised an improved performance, and we did start better than previous weeks, winning the ball out of the middle, using the breeze advantage and connecting to the forwards.

    With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.
