Confirmed on twitter by the giants and sheedy. GWS have 5 picks in the first 13.

I hope we got this right..

Biggest make or break deal of the decade...

Lets hope we got this one right

I think the reason it took so long was we were trying to get GWS to take your pessimism too but they can't ship it because those big mining trucks can't travel on road.

Yes definitely picks 3 and 13, still waiting on which pick and young GWS player they give us in return.

For those freting about using pick 13 ect

From trade week we get a NET GAIN

we would have had to use pick 3 on Viney anyway, Then got Hogan at a bargain of pick 13, upgraded pick 26 to pick 20 and a free Zone selection player who was going in the second or third round.

So the net gain is large for us imo, Got massive unders for Hogan in the end and a nice upgrade and nice player in return.

20 not 26

Why is this renamed 'Welcome to the MFC' etc, couldn't it still eventuate that GC use MD pick one on Hogan if they change their mind?

Everyone goes on about "oh we got Viney for a steal"

That doesn't mean I am going to trade away 13 for Jack Anthony.

When we get a steal, we should capitalize on it.

3, 13 for 17 yr old kid, pick 78 and a pick 20 seems like cr-p

We got f-cked

He'll be 19 when he first plays for the MFC.

Happy daze.

We only got Viney for pick 26 because they let him slide,

yesterday and today was one trade split over 2 days mate, take a chill pill.

and look at the net gains as stated in my post about 4 above.

we got Viney at 3 in the end imo, Hogan for pick 13 massive unders, down graded pick 26 to pick 20 another win

AND got a free stab at a player who will go late in the second or early in the third round of the draft

cant believe we had to waste pick 13 on him. If GC used pick 2 for MD1, surely pick 3 by itself gets MD2. Good to get Hogan, but i dont know if he is better then toumpas & kennedy/stringer/garlett.

Well, you can go enjoy being that way.

I am going to enjoy getting the hardest player in a generation, a 194cm 97kg FF/CHF, some kid that only GWS could have taken, all the while staying in the top 5 and another pick in the first round.

You do realize the Hogan would be a clear number 1 pick in next years draft,?

He is a Jonathan Brown clone who will be ready to play round 1, 2014.

If you think we got robbed on this deal you have got rocks in your head.

If you view it in the context of where we got Viney, everything makes more sense.

Cut the victim mentality crap.

The thing is, monster KPF's don't come along very often and when they do you should always snaffle them up. Big plus for the MFC :)

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
