Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I'm not sure if it's exactly common knowledge that Sammy is that way inclined.

Either way, it should make difference if Wellingham and Franklin are.

It doesn't reflect on their ability as players.

I think Wellingham would fill a role for us that we sorely need filled.

We don't have many that share the same attributes.

I base my opinion on his stupid metrosexual look off the field more than last nights game.

Last nights game was more of a laugh for me especially when he got booted in the head.

Q.Why do grown men share a house when both are millionaires?

WTF has this got do with whether or not Sharrod Wellingham is an option for possible pick up for the MFC.

So the way he looks off the field is a obviously a really good way of judging someone's football ability and whether he is a good mix for our team. Also he can live with whomever he choose to. I lived with other male friends up until I met my partner and started having children and then moved into my own house, how is this any different. The amount of money he makes is irrelevant, in fact if he wants to remain an Millionaire best thing to do would be save cost of living by sharing a house with someone.

Sad call Buddy. Never heard of Aaron Hamil? Different code but I'd love to hear you voice these kind of bigoted old man opinions around Ian Roberts.

Of course I've heard of Hamil. He played Luke Skywalker in Star Wars. What do you mean by "bigoted old man opinions'?

Why would I call Buddy if I'm sad. Wellingham might answer the phone. What code would I use for Ian Roberts? Non Kapiche.

One of the footnotes to an article in the Courier Mail about Grant Thomas' departure from TV

PIES KEEP RIVALS AT BAY

COLLINGWOOD has offered Sharrod Wellingham and Tyson Goldsack contracts as it seeks to retain the list that got it to a preliminary final.

The Travis Cloke situation will take centre stage from today on, but rival clubs will continue to nibble at the edges.

Wellingham must decide whether the deal is satisfactory or ponder the cash and multi-year contract available at Melbourne.

Similarly, Goldsack will scrutinise his contract after establishing himself as defensive forward who can kick goals and stifle attacking half-backs.

This is from Kim Hagdorn whose batting average rivals that of NZ's Chris Martin so FWIW we might find out about Cloke's future very soon - Clock ticks on Cloke at Carlton

POWERHOUSE Collingwood forward Travis Cloke is likely to be put on a tight deadline to declare whether he joins Carlton after the Magpies were bundled out of this year’s premiership hunt by Sydney.

Cloke, 25, is tipped to be given just 72 hours to tell new Blues coach Mick Malthouse whether he will leave Collingwood in what shapes as a highly controversial switch to the Magpies' bitter rival.

Don't get too excited but the article goes on to say we're after Chris Dawes.

I hope someone's keeping a tally of draft stories of 2012 that went belly up!

Keeping Cloke will see a couple others depart.

Yes, that seems likely.

Also, Caddy's preference is to get to Collingwood, but they'll struggle to satisfy Gold Coast with a decent pick. Unless, of course, they trade Wellingham to Melbourne for pick 13 and on-trade that pick to GC.

Dawes !!!??

Wellingham might be ok. You must remember Wellingham is next in line to the elites of the competition, Pendels, Swannette and no 17 with the Tatts. Wello's would get the opportunity to be a number one premium mid at Melb.

But who would WE prefer?

I'm not sure myself.

Leaning towards Wellingham.

From what I have heard we're talking to every out of contract player.

The problem is who would want to come to our club?

Keen for Wellingham just because he is older and "proven" putting in some performances, has the mongrel in him as well.

Wellingham is a panzie.

Worse player than who on our list at this stage? Besides Jones, Clarke, Frawls, Grimes, Howe and debatable on Sylvia. Who else?

and this down furher

Dawes, 24, has been linked with a switch to struggling Melbourne as another forward line option alongside big Mitch Clark when he is back into action next year after missing the second half of this season with a severe foot injury

Offering him $100k more is equal to doing nothing at all. As B-H and old55 have both pointed out already, players aren't going to want to leave successful clubs to come here for only a "bit" more pay, it would need to be something really juicy. If you want to move players, you need to overpay. I think it's that simple.

Not always. Sometimes its a case of opportunity, Wellingham would likely be a key midfielder for us. He might want to play ,ore time in the middle rather than be a second string to Swan, Beans, Pendlebury etc. You just don't know.....

Bate was looking at leaving last year because of opportunity. Will probably go this year because it didn't really happen for him...

I reckon he'll stay at Collingwood but would be happy to see him in a Dees guernsey.

That's probably a good hint you should question where you stand.

I did-and I still agree with Tona on this guy.

It's the fringe that worries me-the stupidity of trying to look like Justin Beiber when you are 23 didn't work for Bennell either.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
