He's lost a lot of strength since tearing his pec, can't match it body on body with the gorillas anymore.

I've heard him say he can't bench anywhere near as much weight since the injury, if he can't get that strength back hell never be a gorilla keeper. Must admit I'm concerned.

Grimes was caught watching the play like a spectator rather than watching the opposition players he was supposed to be defending against and two goals (at least) resulted when crows were completely out on their own in space where he should have been. Otherwise he was one of our better players. Dunn, Watts, Frawley and several others did not go in for contests when they should have. Just stood back and watched.

Sadly James Frawley has been exposed in the past two years. He is woefully slow in both his decision making with the ball in hand, and then slower when he disposes. His disposal intent is way to obvious, and thus he frequently gets smothered, rushed down, or has his disposals intercepted. I hate to say it, because he had so much promise 2 years ago, but he has little or no future in the AFL.

Are you kidding me? He's as fast as Lewis Jetta, his kicking is fine for a full-back, his decision making is good as long as he doesn't try to bite off more than he can chew, and I can't remember the last time he got smothered, outside that one mistake yesterday.

Frawley's problem is that he gives his direct opponent too much latitude, and in his attempt to make up the ground, he often gives away free kicks or forces lesser defenders into mismatches. Jack Watts was forced to take Frawley's opponent a couple of times yesterday because Frawley was off on his own trying to be Andrew McLeod.

I remember David Neitz kicking a bag (5? 6?) on Matthew Scarlett at the MCG some years ago. It does happen!

However it was a shocker from #8 yesterday. That intercepted chip (pun) kick being the worst!

what the [censored] has happend to this bloke!?? he has been pansted all year, his decision making is atrocious, when gets beaten on the lead he looks around and yells at everyone else which is sometimes fair enough but at the same time sometimes his desperation to hit the contest hard or put a full on body contact on his opponent is just not there.

massive fan of his but lately he has been really frustrating to watch..!

Could not agree more. He has been average at best all season, but last night he was terrible. Being caught in the center with the ball (which cost us yet another goal) was one example of many where he was too slow and seemed not to have an awareness of what is around him.

In the 3rd quarter he let Walker mark in the forward half without putting any body on him. Walker was in the best position so would have tough to stop him but the least he could have done was make him earn it by smashing him (fairly). Soft

Silly i know but as i left the g i wondered what trade currency he might have. I've settled since then but geez he was poor

plus walker who monsterd him today. franklin killed him in the nab cup and when we played them this year.

to say today was the first time he got beaten is outragoues! been beaten most of the year as most people here agree.

Grimes wasn't the only one. I was left wondering whether Strauss even thought he was a defender at stages yesterday.

I reckon Frawley is a a half back flanker(not rhyming slang!)

. He's not big enough to hold most key position forwards(except J Reiwoldt, who is flanker size.)

That's right ... and it's why we should've drafted Daniel Talia at pick 11 instead of Gysberts in 2009.

The thing may just be one of those suckers that turns into a 3-4 week injury because it doesn't get right immediately, but Chip is trying to play through it.

he was down on the day but spare a thought for the guy he has had the ball coming at him all year long from the centre.

He is nowhere near finished and with some relief next year will be fine.

I hope for his sake we get to play some finals.

Agree. Frawley's biggest problem is the MFC midfield. When the opposition routinely has 40 to 50 inside 50s each week, I am not sure he alone can stop the oncoming flood stream

    Calling all fit players.  Expect every available Melbourne player to board the Virgin Boeing 737 flight to Perth for this upcoming team-bonding, fun-filled, weekend getaway.   This cross-continent Round 4 clash at Fremantle Oval starting at 2:05pm AEST promises to be keenly contested, though Fremantle is the bookies slight favourite.     If we lose, finals will be remoter than Rottnest Island and the Dees 50-point dismantlement by North Melbourne last Sunday, an omen.

    With Casey Fields basking in sunshine, an enthusiastic throng of young Demons fans formed a guard of honour for the evergreen and much admired 75-gamer Paxy Paxman. As the home team ran out to play, Paxy’s banner promised that the Demons would bounce back from last week’s loss to Brisbane and reign supreme.   Disappointingly, the Kangaroos dominated the match to win by 50 points, but our Paxy certainly did her bit.  She was clearly our best player, sweeping well in defence.

    The 40,000 seat $319 million redeveloped Kardinia Park Stadium was nowhere near capacity last night but the strong, noisy contingent of Melbourne supporters led by the DeeArmy journeyed to Geelong to witness a high-quality battle between two of the best teams in AFLW.   The Cats entered the arena to the blasting sounds of Zombie Nation and made a hot start kicking the first 2 goals.     The Mighty Demons take on the confident Cats this Saturday night at the recently completed $319 million redeveloped GMHBA Stadium, with the bounce of the ball at 7:15pm.
