Simple answer to this one and it is no. Our club culture isn't strong enough to take on one more loose cannon. Col and Jurrah have been handful enough this year.

No club has a culture strong enough for a bloke in his position, but the real difference is that MFC is one of the clubs that can least afford to take a chance on a culture cancer like him.

With the hard stance our new culture has set i think it is worth the risk.

One year contract see what happens.

If he F*%ks up, he'll know about it quickly, if he does it again he's out.

The reason why people are saying no, is because they are afraid he have a negative influence on some players. Again, Neelds hard line stance stipulates no mediocrity, therefor the players will know whats right and whats not.

I see it like this

Small chance that he will stuff up

if he does he will be out, very quickly

If he doesn't he'll be an asset.

What?

HUGE chance he will stuff up. You'd almost bet on it. Even if he didn't "stuff up", you know his professionalism is lacking and above and beyond this, he's just not a good enough player to worth all that risk.

I can't believe I'm even giving this idea oxygen TBH.

I was on footy trip in Echuca and I met the good old dc, who enlightened me on his whole story, I asked him about the meds and his answer was "yes they were prescription meds, and they were meant to last me a couple weeks, I took all 10 at once" no wonder he didn't wake. He was also pretty confident he would play afl next year in the brief conversation i had with him, and he shouted me a beer, 30 minutes later he was rolling under the Rojo nightclub pool table.

So it's a big yes for me, as he did purchase me a beer so he passed the good bloke test

100% Yes.

It's worth the risk.

We need footballers that can play the game.

We passed on Darling because of so called discipline issues.

I am sick of taking the nice guy path.

Deal with it.

We need players that can play the bloody game. At the moment we don't. We're a laughing stock.

We don't have the liberty to be picking and choosing nice guys from bad guys. Give me footballers.

If he stuffs up monumentally then boot him out and move on.

He'll know the score.

I bet wherever he goes he will be on his absolute best behaviour and be out to prove a point.

He's worth it. Get him.

Moneyball.

It's not like he's Brendan Fevola. He's a dude with potential that convinced Dustin Martin to get smashed and crash with sleeping pills on a training night. Cannot see how anyone could be floating this as a good idea.

You might have the wrong bloke who did the convincing. Nevertheless it aint happening.

Huh???? If he stuffs up he will know about it if he does it again he is out.... You are kidding. He breached more than 3 strikes at the Tigers. He is not only a serial culture sore but is also impacting the disposition of younger players.

It does not matter what stance Neeld takes. It would be no different to Hardwick. And some players dont know right from wrong. .....Connors is one of them.

Moneyball.

No just plain silly.

That's him alright. Being from Echuca myself its a common sight seeing him having a few brewa enlightening the world of how much of a star he is.

And as much as I'd like seeing a local making it in the big time I'd eat my hat if we picked him up. He is a moron and poison to people around him. He has been involved in countless off field incidents here there and everywhere. A leopard doesn't change his spots and he wont change his.

Also I can't understand the want for him, maybe risk someone who is an a grader but he is a 'just' player. Nothing more. Move on

Well, that was silly...

Connors can play and would be a decent player if he'd pull his head out of his butt. Though I just don't think he'd be a good enough player to take such a risk.

    GOLDIE'S METTLE by Meggs

On a perfect night for football at the home of the Redlegs, Norwood Oval, it was the visiting underdogs Melbourne who led all night and hung on to prevail in a 2-point nail-biter. In the previous round St Kilda had made it a tough physical game to help restrict Adelaide from scoring and so Mick Stinear set a similar strategy for his team. To win it would require every player to do their bit on the field plus a little bit of luck.  Fifty game milestoner Sinead Goldrick epitomised

    REDLEG PRIDE by Meggs

Hump day mid-week footy at the Redlegs home ground is a great opportunity to build on our recent improved competitiveness playing in the red and blue.   The jumper has a few other colours this week with the rainbow Pride flag flying this round to celebrate people from all walks of life coming together, being accepted. AFLW has been a benchmark when it comes to inclusivity and a safe workplace.  The team will run out in a specially designed guernsey for this game and also the following week

    REDEEMING by Meggs

It was such a balmy spring evening for this mid-week BNCA Pink Lady match at our favourite venue Ikon Park between two teams that had not won a game since round one.   After last week’s insipid bombing, the DeeArmy banner correctly deemanded that our players ‘go in hard, go in strong, go in fighting’, and girl they sure did!   The first quarter goals by Alyssa Bannan and Alyssia Pisano were simply stunning, and it was 4 goals to nil by half-time.   Kudos to Mick Stinear.

    REDEEM by Meggs

How will Mick Stinear and his dwindling list of fit and available Demons respond to last week’s 65-point capitulation to the Bombers, the team’s biggest loss in history?   As a minimum he will expect genuine effort from all of his players when Melbourne takes on the GWS Giants at Ikon Park this Thursday.  Happily, the ground remains a favourite Melbourne venue of players and spectators alike and will provide an opportunity for the Demons to redeem themselves. Injuries to star play
