J.Howe must be offerd a 4 year deal now.

Howe far away is he from putting pen to paper?

This kid will be a star once he learns to kick and run a full game in the middle.

Im sure there would be other clubs looking at this gem.

Get this done ASAP.

Anyone have any info cheers?

Not a silly thought, but you just have to hope the club are well aware of this and due processes are already underway. Pretty good recruiting from BP with Howe.

As long as MFC dont turn him into a dud, which we have been good at doing in recent yrs....

4 years for player who still by your own admission needs to "learn to kick"?

I like Howe as a player but he's far from proven at this stage.

I worry about this kid

How good would he be in a good side

I can just imagine him at Collingwood or Hawthorn

His reputation would be 10 times what it is right now.

there would be no shortage of offers around to his management.

I hope for some strange reason he likes playing with dees.

If the kid wants to play finals any time in the next 5 years his plans may be elsewhere.

He is the prime one of the un signed group

3 Years is Pllenty, while he's still learning the ropes.

Nathan Jones is.

Howe is the most talented footy player at the club. Could be anything if he is up for it.

He kicks off one step and as the boys at training can tell you - rpfc hates it when people Kick. Off. One. Step.

He's just a natural footballer.

Hes worth a four or five year deal.

His kicking isn't that bad .

He's a part of the future for sure.

He seems like he loves being at the dees.

Always looks happy and a bit of a class clown.

I think other clubs would allready be talking to him eddie comes to mind.

We cant let this kid go fullstop.

This kid could be elite in 2 years.

Col Garland is/was incredibly happy to be at the club I think you will agree?

Very quiet fellow is Colin. And reserved.

It takes all kinds.

And all kinds can be happy at a club.

Including a young ranga whose best mate didn't want to play with him.

(I veered that comment for my own point there so don't read too much into it, BJ)

He has been one of the few good stories of our season. But the words 'learn to kick' always worry me. We said the same about many players in the past.

No to 4 years. Should be 2 possibly 3.

As Neeld said. He provides a bit of a highlight reel. Needs to find more consistency and that will only come with time in the game.

Hope he spends it with us.

dont agree with everything in this thread but i do agree that we should make signing him up one of our highest priorities, alnong with Jones

If were to somehow end up with no Jurrah and no Howe, we'd be the most boring team to watch in the AFL.

Gee, a senior player who couldn',t kick to save himself, four year contract along with Jamar and Tackles Mckenzie, going to be a long few years.

Think it through - Eddie doesnt come to mind at all. How would he get there ? If he rejects all offers and we cantor wont do a deal with him - two choices - we trade to the highest bidder pre draft or he goes into the draft and takes pot luck who he goes to. Collingwood dont have the money for him and he wouldnt last in the pot luck draft until Collingwood. No way.

Shouldn't be a problem now he is in the midfield rotation. Brain (sic) Royal should be able to make it another of his coaching successes.

Howe has been OK but I think his ability has been oversold somewhat. If he learns to nail his set shots he will be an asset, but if not he could easily turn into another Petterd or Dunn.

3 years, perhaps with incentives. Front load if possible. Avg $300k per yr.

That is very generous for a second year player with skill issues.

If he is the star many say, negotiate a new contract half way through his new 3 yr deal.

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc.
