Watts was having a decent game up until this last quarter but his efforts or lack thereof have all but cancelled it out.

Three decent enough quarters is an improvement though.

We desperately need some crumbers. I don't understand why we never have anyone loose around the packs.

Fitness is also a big issue I feel. We simply can't run games out. This will improve.

He can still do the positives on a less bulky player -- Cloke will eat him.

But he's not playing on Cloke today is he?

I think Rivers has won that battle so what else do you want?!

Posted

Looking for positives, we did stay in it for three quarters which is two more than our best so far this year.

Lack of fitness has again killed us....hopefully won't next year.

Pathetic finish Melbourne.

You nearly gave me hope, only to throw it back in my face with that last quarter.

Boy I'd like to single out many MFC players right now for being absolutely pathetic today.

I will refrain from it.

I will say tho that Nathan Jones runs his guts out.

Back to Casey for ... Sellar ... and Jamar

Well thought-through post ... rucks next week will be Spencer and Fitzpatrick, that'll have them quaking in their boots.

Really disappointing end to the game. We really had a decent crack today. But our pathetic fitness levels and our generally poor skills ate us up late.

We will not be competitive against decent clubs if we can't run out games, and right now, we are hardly running out three quarters, let alone four. It's so disappointing.

Thought Bail responded fantastically, especially early. Clark and Jones again led the way for endeavour. Blease and Nicholson seemed to relish their chances. But there is still a lot of crap (Sellar is the slowest player I have ever seen).

MOLONEY MUST GET BACK TO HIS LOCKER AND CLEAN IT OUT

Failed to get any reward in the 3rd quarter. Not happy losing by 58 point, but it was a much better effort for 3 quarters. Sellar and Moloney were poor today.

I think it was frustrating right from the start. Carlton are a shadow of the team they were at the start of the year. That blow out was always going to happen. This team has no clue how to win.

Can't say any one player is more deserving to be dropped than anyone else. But Moloney is done. He has lost so much confidence and just...boom. Isn't that why we call him "Beamer".?

We were significantly better. We play a game style that requires a lot of very hard running. Unfortunately we are nowhere near fit enough to play this style ...... yet.

I thought our pressure was good and we stayed with Carlton for 3 quarters despite not winning any clearances and losing the contested possession pretty badly.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
