Collingwood v Melbourne

What I'm trying to say is that building a better membership is about momentum.

Those that didn't see the game last week wouldn't realise how bad the conditions were , they didn't see we had half a side , didn't see we were practicing the game plan , they just read the bottom line ... we lost to GC .... Bad.

Now if we come out and beat the Pies this week , that'll [censored] a few of those ears up again.

How 'bout we roll the Dawks the week after ... Hello , something might be happening down there .... Interest/Optimisim builds .

In fantasy land , what if we made the NAB final , rolled some good opposition ... and won it . Then come out and trounced the lions Rd1.

How do ya think the supporters are feeling compared to if we get done tommorrow night and spent the last few weeks being banished to the country grounds

getting even less of a write up than if in the NAB cup.

Drop any of those NAB games and at worst badly , they'll just think here we go again , same ol' Melbourne , and won't bother.

Momentum is key.

I tend to agree Fork. I remember when the doggies went well in the Nab cup I think they may have won it and it was barry hall's first year there. The excitement was through the roof for the doggies and I believe they were flag favourites for a while. All the doggies supporters I spoke to Signed up Immediately some just for the chance of a grand final ticket but they still signed up.

I think it's 22 and then 4 can swap in at half-time so that makes 26 - that list has 29 so 3 won't play.

Captain from Jones, Frawley, Garland and Jamar?

Sorry this is not correct. Its 22 with 7 interchange/swaps at half-time.

Great call like i said the sheep will come when we win nab cup games and will help our bottom line.

Anyone who reckons wins in the pre-season wont help membership has no idea on how an AFL club prospers.

I don't know why some people get so hung up about the bank cup, they are just practice matches, if we didn't have them then clubs would lobby to play practice matches against other AFL clubs like in the past.

However........................... that said, I remember (starting to sound like Grandpa Simpson here) when the Dees won the 87 Night final (preseason comp) and I was over the moon.

Cam Mooney said on radio that in 04 the cats wanted to win the Pre season comp sooo bad. So winning is good, experimenting is good as long as you give a yelp, people smile and put their hand in their pocket when a team wins. Good culture, get used to it in the next few years. Win the damn cup, beat Collingwood and send those over achieving morons back into their hole

See I've blown my own argument

Think I'll go for a lie down and a Bex now

It's going to be hard to watch with both teams playing boundary footy with the stupid rule that has no place in the game!

I think I will just stick to my guns of never watching a nab cup game. But....

That's why it will suck me in I reckon WYL. What do you think the final result will be??

I really do not know...our team is a real X Factor i believe....Neeld gets to really have a crack tonight.

Total agreement........if you win it, they will come! Apologies to Field of Dreams.

As we get limited cover unless its the usual big4 or major event the Nab cup is insignificant to most potential country members but I agree with the thrust of most that momentum and especially good result against pies would help.

If matches are treated as practice matches then every comment about the game must be directed to that point. If scoreline negative there must be a positive press release that we were pleased that our defenders got the practice that we wanted. We must own the news as the players must own the footy. Every supporter and especially well informed demonlanders must have a quick retort to any opposition member and a water cooler comment that says we are using these practice matches to improve and develop our side and achieve the better results down the track

GO DEES

Im looking forward to seeing us play on a dry ground after last weeks rubbish. We have a few outs but I think it could be closer than many think. I reckon Collingwood might be in for a bit of a slide this year, lets hope we can help start that, and give one back to Queen Eddie!

Trouble is mate we have most of our 22 out with injuries, that's why I can't take it seriously. I will be closely following Troy Davis as I think he could be our next Scarlett, big call I know but I've seen a bit of him. Also Tynan, has big wraps and they breed them well in Gippy land, some have suggested him as a midfielder which is a great call when he bulks up. And of course I will be watching Watts very closely, for someone with exceptional skills needs to get more of it and deliver into the forward line, although they may play him deep tonight. Don't care if he does a hundred 1 percenters, someone with his skills should get as much of the ball as he can and rely on the bodies around him to do the hard things.

For those of you want to warm up the vocal cords for tonight's game, the 2010 QB match is currently being played on Fox Footy.

I'm in Sydney for work at the moment staying in the CBD. Anyone know of any places that will play this? It's harder finder places here because Rugby is more popular >:(

It's the round 2 game when we lost by a point :(

We should have won that game!

Oh damn. Silly me - I was thinking "2010 Melb vs Collingwood", it must be the QB draw.

But it sort of makes sense they would show Round 2 instead, considering Eddie is basically in charge. Erk. *changes channel*

We were paying over $15 for a win before the game.

Soon as it started i said to my Dad "The Team is on today. Put some $$ on them quick."..we didn't & of course lost, but it would have been worth it. Great game of footy. Like a final in all ways. My Filth mate was voiceless for about 2 days after it. He expected a thrashing.

The Demons’ aggressive small forward who kicks goals and defends the Demons’ ball in the forward arc. 2024 Player Reviews: #1 Steven May

The years are rolling by but May continued to be rock solid in a key defensive position despite some injury concerns.
