Yes i know all that HT, still does not hide the fact we attracted less than 100 memberships yesterday..

Oh .... You must have missed my previous post which stated ....I'll make it crystal....

Not every Melbourne supporter or non Mfc member....listens...............to ................minnow.............S.........E.........N !

Didn't renew...... sorry......

Wasn't about the money, but was about dragging a 8 and 6 year old to games they know we are going to lose. It's just not fair on them...... AND I'm not spending money on something they won't use

That's ok, I have three memberships I won't use.

So a few of us can pick up the slack.

If its not about the money see it as a future investment. Then when we win you say i was part of the club when they needed me most. I take my 2 kids sometimes but they are 3 and 5 and i get them a $50 membership since they were born because i love the MFC and so do they. And we might beat GC and GWS so take them to that.

35k passed.

(Shaking head at Old Dee for once saying we won't get to 30k)

That is truly remarkable considering the way this season has panned.

The club should think itself lucky we all care so much.

You won that one rpfc.

But wait!

A new prediction if the current form continues we will struggle with 25 000 in 2013.

What do you think rpfc what is your early prediction?

About 2k more than where we finish this year.

Unlike you mate I did not think I would draw you out.

Pity we don't play as agressively as you predict rpfc.

It is in the diary, looking forward to 2013

Is this OD 'looking forward' to something?! Or are you using the saying as a description of the linear 'forward' movement of time?

I've also wondered how many members will stick fat next year if things continue as they are Old Dee

In Round 1 against Brisbane it seemed like every single members was there and in full voice.. against Carlton on the weekend (admittedly an away game) there was hardly a Demon fan in sight and apart from the efforts of the cheer squad (and MCC) our goals were greeted in silence.

I found a handful of fellow Demons to sit near in the top deck of the Northern Stand on Saturday but I looked around and couldn't see a single other Melbourne supporter in the stand.

If we finish bottom 2 this year, I reckon we'll really struggle to increase numbers for next year. We've been battling in the lower rungs for too long now, only wins on the board will revitalise the supporters out there.

Other than wins, I guess a couple of really good trades at season's end might create some hope for round 1 2013.

I'm a bit embarrassed to say, I haven't been to a game since the St.Kilda game.

I have watched the games on Foxtel, but usually end up turning it off by half time.

The Game plan has us hamstrung and we don't know how to attack.

Unless things improve dramatically, I will not be renewing my membership next year.

A "Demon for life" they have just about sucked the last bit of enthusiasm out of me.

Having Foxtel and a newborn have stopped me going to away games but membership is something that is automatically bought without question.

Plenty of Dees in the MCC reserve - probably outnumbered the Blues in there.

Greg Baum mentioned the big red and blue turnout in his match report.

Maybe try another part of the 'G.

I would love for time to wrap around on itself - I would go back and kill Hitler and help the Dees with the draft...

But I just don't think it's the way it is...

Here's what you do:

1. Watch the first quarter.

2. Drink in the bar for the final three quarters.

3. Hang out with Richmond supporters.

+ 3

Myself, my 4 year old who is still on board and even my 6 year old who now follows the filth all get memberships yearly. I think the 6 year old will come back on board once the tie turns

That's the beauty of the MCC for dees supporters, when the going gets tough you can sadly retreat to the Frank grey and watch whatever other game is on and chat to friends. The day isn't a total loss that way.

It may seem sad to some, but it means you keep turning up each week despite the quality of the contest.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
